    Re: Philips prestigo universal remote

I have the SRU8015. Compared it to the 9600. I like that the top coloured buttons on the 8015 are actual buttons. I have used them to program a number of different sources, and can use them in the dark, just by the touch of my finger. On the 9600 these are virtual buttons on the display.

For instance, my Plasma screen's different sources relate to the buttons from left to right: STB-Games-AppleTV-Mac mini

    Same with the receiver.

Very pleased with the 8015, it's retired a lot of other remotes, and it learns whatever B&O command I need. I have it resetting my BL5s, volume up/down, switching them on/off, etc.

from past experience not all universal remotes are capable of controllong bang and olufsen products. when i here of this i am some what of a sceptic until proven otherwise. even though B&O have utillised components manufactured by philips.

I'm using it every day. It's great - controls a whole range of components, and lets me add new functions whenever I want.
I find myself using the channel selector function a lot - seen here:

    Re: Philips prestigo universal remote

Just found this thread, and being closer to decision making, I'll have to maybe reconsider remote controls! LOL Anyone interested could help me out with a B&O question on my thread New House New System?..............

These certainly look functional and seem to get soundproof's approval, I just wonder what it's limitations might be down here in never never land???????????Unsure

The only reason you'd want one, is if you're integrating with non-B&O equipment and not going the Lintronic or similar route. I'm using it to control a variety of devices and just wanted the easy flexibility to reprogram without a lot of fussing about with a computer, etc.

But in my other listening/viewing room I have just the Beo4 and that provides a more ergonomical and elegant solution.
