    Ouverture to Lab Penta's cables

    Hi Guy's

    http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=952

Can anyone tell me the cables required to link Lab Penta's to an Ouverture? Am I right in thinking powerlink cables will do the job. What about Speakerlink cables, would they work too?

    Cheers

    Graeme

If they are Penta II's or III's then you need Mk2 powerlink cables. Speakerlink cables will not plug into the Ouverture.

Mine are III's, so what is the difference between powerlink and Mk2 powerlink. Is there anywhere I can see pictures showing the difference?

Mk2 powerlink are slightly thicker than the others and the plugs are "fully wired". ie All the pins are connected. In this way you will get the displays on the pentas working.

Thats why I would like to see them cos my BC9000 with speaker link gives me the display's with 4 connections.

How many connections on powerlink and mkII powerlink?

I think you need a minimum of 5 conductors for each speaker if you were going to make up some cables

Left or right signal, signal ground, 5v to switch on, 0v, digital signal and possibly one other. I assume that beotech is down so can't check this. Any way, I'm fairly sure you can't do it with 4.

In light of the amount of querries regarding cables/connections, compatibility etc, would it not be very valuble to have a matrix type sheet showing the different B&O connections, how they work, were they fit and were they don't.

WOW! I have never been on beotech before, great site. Should there not be a link on the links page for it?
