    2400 or 2400-2 with my Beogram 4004?

    If this is the wrong board, I apologize.

    I want to use my Beogram 4004 with a B&O system that has remote control.

    In the US, the 2400s come up with remote from time to time, but the 2400-2s are harder to come by.

    Do I definitely need the 2400-2 to have remote control functions to the 4004?  Are the remotes that came with the 2400 vs. 2400-2 different from each other?

    Thanks

    Chris

    I don't think the remotes differ but the 2400 does not have the 7 pin DIN connection to attach the 4004 only a 5 pin (just had a look at the service manual). Therefore to get remote control, you need the 2400-2.

    the remotes are not different, i *believe* that the difference w/ the -2 was that you could initiate the beogram from the bm and/or remote. i will chk my notes.

    (3) 2400-2 and (2) 4002 -though not connected...

    ++++edit++++

    per my notes (peter above)

    the -2 allowed the play and stop of the bg from the bm a/o remote

    Re: 2400 or 2400-2 with my Beogram 4004?

    Generally the above is correct though I have seen a few BM1900/1900-2 and 2400 that were converted for use with the Beogram 4004 (and 2404). The BM1900 won't allow remote control but the 1900-2 could be upgraded. All 2400 and 2400-2 has remote control.

    The safest thing is, as mentioned above, to check the turntable DIN socket, it needs to have 7 pins to remote operate the Beogram.

    The remotes are all the same.
