    Beomaster 7000 and light programming

My Beomaster 7000 used to be in option 1 and therefore I could use it to program my lights (LC2 & LC1) to turn on at a specific time.

Now my Beomaster 7000 is in option 0 and it can't control my lights anymore. (It's now connected to a BeoVision 7 which is in option 2)

Is there a solution to this problem?

Well you could put them all to Option 1 but you will need to use the AV key a fair bit. You could use a MCL2A with IT transceiver as just a control mechanism - maybe set as option 4 so it doesn't interfere with normal operations. Seems a bit expensive!

Re: Beomaster 7000 and light programming

    There is software-version 1.3 for Beomaster 7000,

which is 2-way in Option 0.

Perhaps this would be ideal in this setup ?

Please pardon my ignorance, but surely, you can put it in option 2, then set your timer, then put it back in option 1 or 0.

I was under the impression that software version 1.3 was especially made for this situation ?

The problem with normal Option 0 is that the transceiver is switched off. Ignace has the correct suggestion though getting the software could be tricky. It should still be available  but they seem to have emptied their stores recently.

Re: Beomaster 7000 and light programming

Ahh, sorry. I thought that it would still send a signal, just not receive one in option 0.
Went out with my two sons last night and haven't yet recovered!

    Hi!

What else does this s/w update do? Will there be any unwanted changes? I have s/w 1.1 in my Bm7000

    regards

Re: Beomaster 7000 and light programming

As far as i remember, it makes sure that you can still use the 2-way Beolink 7000,
even though the connected Beovision is 1-way.

And it enables communication between Beolink 7000 and Beomaster 7000,
even when the Option setting on Beomaster is set to 0 (infrared deactivated)

I'm not 100% sure about this, as i use a Beomaster 6500 with Beolink 7000.

    Thanks!

Sounds like a nice update for me. I could always put the old software back if I´m not satisfied. Any idea about the price for this update?

Re: Beomaster 7000 and light programming

Some nice person has sent me this!

    Service S/W - operation with BL 7000

    Beomaster 7000, Type 234x

A service software, version 1.3, for Beomaster 7000 has now been released. The service software makes it possible to use Beolink 7000 to operate Beosystem 7000 in a set-up with BeoVision Avant.

When Beosystem 7000 is operated with Beolink 7000, the BeoLink Converter will ensure the on/off function, volume adjustment, etc. in BeoVision Avant. In this set-up Beolink 7000 is to be seen as hands-on operation of Beosystem 7000.

    Options:

BeoVision Avant must be in option 2, and Beomaster 7000 in option 0. Beolink 7000 is configured for one-way video operation and two-ways audio operation. The Beomaster 7000 will act as if it were in option 1 when two-ways operated with Beolink 7000

    Possible operation via Beolink 7000:

Audio source operation, manual or timer programmed recording on audio tape recorder, Mute as well as volume adjustment (the volume indication on Beolink 7000 is different from the volume indication on BeoVision Avant).

    Impossible operation via Beolink 7000:

    Timer light programming.

    NOTE!

*Timer play programming, Timer on/off as well as Sound adjustment (e.g. balance, bass, etc.) is made via Avant using the Beo4.

*After installation and option programming or after mains drop-out, an audio source must be selected by hands-on operation to obtain the correct A/V set-up. This influences e.g. A/V RECORD.

*When timer programming the audio master, the Timer ON/OFF on the audio master must be set to OFF. The Timer ON/OFF function is set on the TV.

*Audio sources are not switched off when changing to video source (because of possible users in link rooms).

*Balance, Bass, Treble and Loudness cannot be adjusted on the audio master, operation is made with a remote control via Avant. Adjustment will, however, affect a possible Link room. Volume adjusted from the audio master, adjusts audio sources, but display indication on the audio master may not be correct.

*Hands-on operation of audio recording of video sources is not possible (a remote control must be used).

*Recording on a possible A.TAPE 2 cannot be made by means of a remote control.

*Audio Timer record from program no. with 3 digits, e.g. the Satellite receiver in BeoVision Avant is not possible.

*In some cases it may be necessary to press stand by for several seconds to switch off a product.

Part no. for service software 1.3 (pos. 4IC2, coordinate 5A) is: 8342830.

Re: Beomaster 7000 and light programming

So, this software version basically turns a 2-way Beolink 7000 into a 1-way machine regarding controlling video source.

The same can be done by removing video sources from Beolink 7000 and adding again.

What are the benefits / advantages of this software, i don't really see it.

It means you can have the advantage of the speakers attached to the Avant but retain two way communication with the Beolink 7000. You will get source and track info and still be able to do some programming I suppose.

Re: Beomaster 7000 and light programming

    Me neither!
I think I have the best of both worlds with my setup.
Avant in option 1 and 7000 in option 1.
I can controll everything, I get a readout on my Beolink 7000, I can switch between my surround with labs on the Avant and my S120s on the 7000, and.......

....I can timer control my lights!Big Smile

    Smile

Same here, i also prefer to have "separate" Audio and Video masters / use AV-button to switch

and of course timer control the lights, even program them from a Link-room  Smile

My BM7000 is now in option 0, so I can't program it with the Beolink7000 in the main room,

but it is still possible to program the lights in a link room. (connected with a MCL2AV)

If I'm correct it would still be possible to turn on/off the lights with the BM7000 s/w1.3, you just can't program it in the main room.

So the question really is: does the BM7000, with s/w1.3 in option 0, send out a signal to turn on/off the lights?

Via MCL, yes, but not with the built in transceiver it would seem.
