    BeoLab 3500

    Hi!

On my BL 3500 link speaker I can´t use the buttons. It´s working correct using the remote.

Is this some kind of option, or is it broken?

Are you saying that the mute button etc is not functioning, if yes, then it sounds like you have a fault.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: BeoLab 3500

Yes Keith, the mute and timer buttons are not working.

It´s only 14 months old so it´s still under warranty. I will leave it to my dealer, but I will wait until after new year. Don´t want to miss it under my holiday vacation.

Just had the V6000 in for service. It was ill after eating something bad (a Teletubbies tape). Not good if I have to defend the quality of B&O to my wife.

The problem is likely to be a cable become unplugged, see picture below. If you are willing to take the front cover off yourself you could see if one of the cables is not correctly in its socket.

    Re: BeoLab 3500

    Thanks Keith!

I´ve found the service manual but I don´t have that type of screw driver. I could use my power drill but that´s maybe not a good idea. I will leave the speaker to service and take the benefit of the warranty.

If the warranty had expired I would buy the right of screw driver to take a look at the cables to try to save the service cost.

    Re: BeoLab 3500

I let the shop fix it as it was still under warranty. But yesterday, the buttons stopped working again, and now the warranty has expired. Angry

    Re: BeoLab 3500

When it was fixed a new gaurantee running 6 months was issued, these are standard EC consumer protection policy, so if it is less than 6 months since the shop fixed it, the gaurantee should still be valid. If it is more than 6 months than ask anyway, a fix that only lasts 7 months is not a good enough job and they should be ashamed...

    Re: BeoLab 3500

I called the dealer where I bought it in 2006 (125 km away). He tolded me to go to the nearest shop (the shop who fixed it last year has closed). If it is the same fault again I don´t have to pay.

    Re: BeoLab 3500

The story continues. Got it back yesterday (didn't pay anything) and mounted it. It's not easy as it's heavy and long. I also have the cables hidden in the wall so it's tricky.

Finally mounted it. The on/off button works, but not the timer button. The timer is activated so I can't turn it off. By the way can I do this with Beo4? When I left it for service it was the on/off button that did´'t work.

I'm so tired of this. I just want it to work. It's not fun with the shop 130 km away. It's not fun to mount and remount it all the time. It's not fun to have an empty bracket on the wall and two loose cables reminding me of what is missing. It can´t be good for the speaker and fabric with all this handling. I want my equipment in mint condition. I noticed yesterday that the fabric is a little bit loose at the end of the speaker and thats annoying me. Sad

    Re: BeoLab 3500

    Hi Daniel,

With regards to switching the timer on & off using the Beo4; from the LIST press SHIFT and O (zero). That should show the timer status as on - quickly key the same again to get it to change to TIMER OFF. Key the same sequence again to turn the timer back on.

    Good luck with the repair.

No luck, tested it with both BeoLink1000 and Beo4. Sad

    Re: BeoLab 3500

When I took it down from the wall I noticed the on/off button had stopped working. Has anybody had this problem, the buttons are working for a while before they malfunction? The service man has never heard about this problem before.
