    BEO4 in permanent "link" mode

    Hi all,

I have a BV7 and a BL3500 located in two different room. The rooms are however in open connection. I have not had any problems operating the BV7 from a BEO4 in one of the rooms without the BL3500 reacting to the IR signal in the other room and the other way around. But after getting a BEO5 both units quite often react to the IR. I guess the BEO5 send much stronger IR the the BEO4, and thats nice but also can create problems.

A way to aviod this cound be to set the BL3500 in "link" mode (option 6 i think), but then i have to press "Link" + "Radio" etc. when operation the BL3500. As i'm only using one specific BEO4 to operate the BL3500 it could be a solution if it's possible to set the BEO to permanet send "Link" mode signals. Any one knows if this is possible? and how?

    Regards,

    Ken

Press Standby and List at the same time, then List untill Config appears then 2, 0, 0, 2

The Beolab 3500 should be set to option 4.

Re: BEO4 in permanent "link" mode

It is certainly possible to have the Beo4 in permanent link mode provided your Beo5 provided your Beo4 software is at least at version 5.0 or later.

When it is this mode it will send the "Link" command in front of every command with teh exception of pressing the "TEXT" button.

To put the Beo4 in Link mode follow these steps:-

Press STANDBY and LIST button at the same time

Press up/down until the display shows "CONFIG"

Press 2, 0, 0, 2 and then the display will show "LINK ON"

    Then press EXIT

Use the same sequence to make the Beo4 show "LINK OFF" in the display

NOTE: When the Beo4 is put into link-mode it will only be able to control TV's which are set to Option 4

    Hello Ken,

I use an Infrared light dimming filter in my Beolab 3500.It was sold as filter for the old MCL eyes. There is a picture of it at the end of the MCL handbook. The serial number is 3370162. It should be still available, I bought mine last year.

You can also purchase Beo4 reducers which fit on the end of the Beo4. You will see them in most B&O dealers Beo4's

And how about the TEXT function when the Beo4 is in "Link" modus.
Or I cannot use anymore the videotext for the TV ???
