B&O V8000 alias Philips Turbo Drive

    Hi,

the B&O V8000 VHS video recorder is internally a Philips Turbo Drive. Most of the parts are fully identical, but which one is really compatible for a replacement?

There are also some data different: the V8000 should have 6 video heads... in reality there are 4, i cant find more of them.

Could somebodey tell me the Philips product number? Probably the V8000 capstan motor is defect.

Or has somebody some ideas for repair? What are the typical defects of this drive besides the worm drive?

    Thanks!

     Martin

Martin, I repaired a lot of Philips recorders and indeed the worm wheel who lift the vhs tape is the most common fault on this series.

You can buy it as a spare part in a small set, together with some drive wheels also, because rubber getting harder by time. I look up the order number of the set for you & capstan motor.

Otherwise its a fine recorder, it keeps going and going....

Yes, I kown my spelling is horrible… Huh?
