    HELP! beovsion 7-32

I have recently purchased a new beovsion 7-32 to replace my ageing Avant. I find that the picture quality on the 7-32 is dark and you cannot make out the detail in dark scenes unlike previous TV. Is this an issue with the TV, I have tried adjusting the colour settings but still does not help.

Also whilst messing with the setting I now cannot change sky channels with my beo4

    Any suggestions

The BV7 does have a dark picture in my view. It is possible to turn up the back light though this reduces the life expectancy. This has to be done through the service menu so will be something to ask the dealer about.

I would suggest a hard reset will cure the Sky problem! (Switch it all off at the mains for 2 minutes, Sky box included!)

Do you know if it is the Mark I BV7-32 you bought? If it was second-hand then it probably is and that does have a known issue with the darkness you describe. Don't think there's much you can do about it but I am sure owners of this particular set can advise better. I have heard you can buy modules for it for HD so this might make a difference? Best of luck.

If the TV is new then don't meddle with it. Get your dealer to sort it. You've paid enough!

    Re: HELP! beovsion 7-32

    hello i know your problem

i had this and its so annoying after restart and turn off and on etc

it needs the pin putting in go to TV mode and it will ask for the pin

it did my head in for hours

as if you select DTV it does not ask for pin but the screen comes on and you can control volume but no other controls.

it wants the pin, this caught me out twice

I don't think that's what the OP is referring to, rather a naturally dark image on the BV7. I personally like the image on the BeoVision 7s, very natural IMO. I guess it's all personal preference...

Thanks for the reply, does the darkness on yours make the picture less detailed, ie just blurs into black?

The BV7 is a shop model and I was informed that it was the latest version. Is there anyway I can check what model it is?

    Re: HELP! beovsion 7-32

i always found thr picture on the BV7 to be darker than CRT televisions when a dark scene is on a program / film i went into the shop and copied there brightness and contrast and colour settings from the TV

if you are using a HD sourse then you can press menu and it will bring up the brighness and other options to brighten it a little.

i dont know my settings right now but if you want i can write them on here wheni get home
