BeoVision 7-40 MKIII and Apple TV

Hi, here in Holland, I got my new BeoVision 7-40 MKIII, with a Beo4. My dealer flashed the STB code for Apple remote but I'm still not able to use the Beo4 for my Apple TV. Any suggestions?

    Hi,

have you checked the IR cable is the correct place, and that whichever connection you are using has the appleremote assigned to it?

of course, the ir cable is working if I use the BeO4. Also Apple remote is assigned. More ideas?

You say the IR cable is working. Is it in the correct plug socket on the BeoVision 7 Mkiii? I know it probably is but just to make sure. Otherwise there should be no reason for it not to work. I assume you get the picture and sound fine. Last resorts try switching the BeoVision 7 off from the mains for 5 mins, sometimes this helps, dont know why.

Hi, I tried all that. If you use the Beo4 there is a IR signal out of the cable. The AppleTV is just not reacting. I understand that it works with you? Is there a difference between AppleTV in US and Europe?

     thanks

I have exactly the same problem, B&O installer come over to install it, and he still can't figure out why appletv is not responding.

I'm located in Holland, are you located in Europe or US. Maybe that is the difference

thanks but I tried it already, the remote is not paired.

While using the ApplTV STB software and Beo4: If you press menu on the Beo4 do you get a menu list on the left hand side of the screen? In my case nothing is happening,

    thanks

    Hi R,

I'm waiting to have my BS3 software upgraded to be able to control my Apple TV which is working fine with the Apple Remote. Reading your query string, I just want to refresh a couple of thoughts:

    1. You have an IR cable connected from the BV7's control output to the 'eye' of the Apple TV's IR pickup. This cable either covers the Apple TV's 'eye', or almost does so (to allow it to work with an Apple remote too).

    2.  You have added the 'Apple TV' selection in your STB list to one of the choices in your system, such as 'PC' or 'VMEM' and selected the choice to use the Apple TV.

    3. You have checked the Apple TV works fine with its own remote when plugged into the BV7. You haven't mentioned this in the string. I use 720p for the resolution.

    Good luck!!

Try un-pairing the apple remote in the apple TV settings menu and then re-pair it with the Beo4.  If that does not work have your dealer check the PUC software.  B&O released a version for apple TV recently that did not work.  They have now reloaded a working version on the dealer web site.

When using Apple TV with the BV7, and listening to music, does the BV7 turn on all speakers as it would with a video source or just two speakers as it would with an audio source?

    Beovision 7-55 with Beolab 7-4, 9s and 4000s

    Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s

    Beosound 1, 5, 2000, and 3000

If you are using the HDMI it turns it on like a video source. I could see if you use the analogue connections and avoid HDMI that it may be smart enough to switch to speaker 2. I can't try that on mine.
