HDR2 not working in a link room

I've just bought a BV7-40 MK III and a HDR2 last friday. I got a BV MX4200 in my link room. When I try to operate the HDR2 in the link room and the BV7 is in the standby position, the HDR2 turns on showing the last recording on the MX4200 and then I can't operate the HDR2 anymore. In the main room everything is "frozen" and wont respond to any command. There only one way: turn it all off at the mains switch.

If the BV7 is turned on in the main room, there's no problem what so ever to operate the HDR2 in the link room!!! I've checked the masterlink wiring and all the other VIDEO-sources works perfectly in the link room (DTV and DVD ) even if they are startet from standby.

    What's wrong?

    Regards Frank

Properly a software issue contact your dealer and lat him handle it, as it's brand new.

I have had a tech. guy from my local store to look at it, he even had a BV6-26 with him to rule out SW problems - but no luck :-(

    My SW config:

BV7-40 MK III: AP SW03.50a, IOP SW23.00a, option settings 1

HDR2: AP SW 3.5, AP BOOT 1.1, IOP SW 22.0

MX4200: AP SW 2.51, IOP SW 22.0, Option settings 6

    Did BC6 work?

This is a job for B&O in struer as it works fine in BV7 MKII, even with a 20 years old link TV. does it work if you use DTV first then HDR?

When it does it, is it then possible to use v.mem + green to get the menu?

As I wrote BeoVision 6-26 didn't work either. Everything in the link room works but the HDR2, when the main room is in the standby position. It doesn't matter in which order they are startet.

When the BV7-40 MK III is turned on in the main room, the HDR2 works perfectly in the link room. You can use the menus etc.

Re: HDR2 not working in a link room

I have a BV7-40 MK-I and a brand new HDR-2. In the lik room I have a very old MX-6000 and I have no problems at all operating the HDR-2 from the link room. BV7 turned on or off, everything works perfect.

Was the test with the BC6 as replacement of the BV7 or MX4200?. From what your describing I would suspect it to be a problem with your BV7.

We did try to replace the MX4200 in the link room with the BV6. And I think you are right about the BV7.

Has anyone got a simular setup which is working???

why? It all works if the BV7 is not in standby. That indicates no faults on the masterlink :-(

It's not the ML cable, this is a SW issue regarding the sync. between BV7 and HDR2 IMO. And your dealer has to get, B&O working on fixing it. Your SW is the newest...

My dealer talked to B&O tech. service, they tried my setup and it did work! Now my dealer comes with a new HDR2 within an hour. Hopes this one works :-)

Re: HDR2 not working in a link room

    Frank,

From how you are describing the problem I bet it's a fault (SW or HW) in your BV7. Also the BV7 is now the only component that you haven't triied to replace. So this also very clearly points to a faulty BV7.

B&O has now informed my dealer, that there is a bug in the BV7-40 MK III software! Expect a new release very soon, it has top priority!

    Hi,

My dealer updated my BV7-40 Mk3 to SW version 4.00a today. And now I can operate the HDR2 from my link room Smile

I have noticed one "new" thing: They have reintroduced the LARGE fumction in the TEXT-TV menu.

My parents would love that funtion on their BV7-32 Mk1.
