You can plug your new deck into the AUX socket and it will work no problem. Not sure about Datalink, though I suspect not if it is like the BS9000. I have a BG3500 for sale if the deal for the 6500 does not work out.

Peter has a BC2 and can no doubt confirm re datalink.

Pretty sure the BC2 has RCA (phono ) connections for the Aux connection. Same as the Beosound 4. You could still connect the Beogram to the Aux connection but would need a simple adaptor lead. These are available on Ebay all of the time. Although this means there is no Datalink at all.

Quite right - RCA plugs only and no Datalink. Datalink was dropped by B&O some time ago and I think the Ouverture was possibly the last model to have it.

I cannot believe that Surprise, this is do disappointing Sad... One of the reasons why I started buying B&O products in the past was the ability to control all sources with one single remote.

Now, if I understand well, if the future digital music player BS5 has no CD drive, I cannot connect a CD player (e.g. Beogram CD 6500 or 7000) and have it remote-controlled by a Beo4 (or any terminal) Super Angry??? I was so impatient to discover the new BS5, but maybe I will just keep my BC9500 and BS9000 (with an iMac remote-controlled by an iPod Touch for digital music).

The definitions of "progress" and "user-friendly" seem to have strangely evolved at B&O recently.Hmm

I have to say that I am also nostalgic of the whole two-way + datalink system.

I was happy to be able to control everything with the Beolink 1000 in one or 2 key press, and not have to go through the LIST button or 3 menus on a Beo5.

But let's not start moaning about a product that is not released and that we don't know anything about...

B&O dropped Datalink when B&O decided that all Hifi will be all in one, and when Beogram were stopped.

However the new ML that replaced MCL can control external Audio device, like Beoport.

Two way was dropped, when TV screen were used to provide the feedback through on screen menus.

Probably - Lee has a non DAB one up for £1695. See if he has one and ask his price if I were you.
