Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
I entered their postcode in my TomTom and was surprised to see it was less than 50 minutes away! I have known for the past year that they have a Beoliving room there so was looking forward to my visit. Ah! This looks like the right town.

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
They had a Christmas tree up next to this Beovision 9 and Beolab6000s. Can't make my mind up whether I like the silver frets though. The problem with looking at this HD TV for a few minutes is that, when you turn round and look at the Beovision 8, it looks awful.

Amongst the usual items in the glass case were three recent additions. Beo5, Beosound 6 and............Serenata! The Beosound 6 was displayed next to it's leather case.

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
This is Nat in the red tie showing Serenata to a customer. I had a little play with it and, to be quite honest, I still love my Serene. I must admit though, that I was looking at it more as a 'phone than an MP3 player. I have never used an MP3 player so wasn't really in a position to make comparisons. Sliding up the speaker didn't come automatically to me as opening a Serene had. Nice feel to it , same ruberised finnish as Serene.

I also had a little play with Beosound 6. Gosh! It is a lot smaller than I had imagined and oh so light!

After that, I went in the back, and there it was...............Beoliving! So reminiscent of the one I had seen in Struer, even down to the louvre type walls

9000 on the wall looks great and I think always will. I really want one of these! Beolab 5s as fronts of course, but................

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
Once i was on my own for a moment, I decided to have a little play with the Beo4. It soon became obvious that this was not a normal Beo4, but the cinema version. I have seen one before at Ed's in his bedroom in Holland but this was the first time I had used one in a cinema set up. I pressed the cinema button and lo! A tardis-like door which had come from Denmark slid shut on me leaving me isolated from the world, then a projector and screen slowly decended from the ceiling! The lights dimmed and I was at the cinema.

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
I had bought my usual demonstration DVD with me, yes you guessed it. Eagles Farewell Tour and Hotel California. Later, Andrew and Nathaniel were both subjected to it. I seemed to get on quite well with Andrew Dickinson and before I left he gave me a goodie bag. Gosh this is heavy, it could only be one thing. I peeped inside and yes, It was a sealed copy of "Spark to Icon" I have been wanting one of these for ages. Thank you so much Andrew. This picture is of all the staff taken by an innocent bystander. The guy on the left is called John but unfortunately, I never got his surname. Next to him is Andrew Dickinson then myself. Nathaniel is next and on the far right is manager Jerome.

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
Sadly, just over a year since the last post, B&O Lytham has closed. Bernard Dickinson has two other dealerships near by though. Strangely, I got a letter from Lars Fly Home this morning, saying my details had been passed to a dealer I never use any more. Not King Street or Bernard Dickinsons other shops! It would appear that the news of the closure of Lytham, hasn't filtered through to Denmark yet!
PS. Where are all the photo's from this thread?

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
That's a real shame Andy. A sad reflection of where we are with the economy I guess. Whilst Lytham is a minted area, there's nothing to the west and it's not a particularly densely populated area of west Lancs, so I guess it was always going to be vulnerable.

I know that sounded a bit thick - but I do know there's only the Irish sea to the west :) As you know, Fliss is from Fleetwood, and I have felt the icy blast off the sea many times before!

Re: Happy Birthday to B&O, Lytham.
Very sad news Andy, there were 4 dealers all within 30 mins of me a couple of years ago. Now there are just 2.
