    av9000 help needed...

    hi,

i would be grateful for any help in setting up an av9000 to temporarily replace my avant, whilst it is being repaired, i.e. making it the primary tv.

the problem i have is that if i plug an aerial lead from the sky box into the 'aerial' socket on the master panel of the av and then plug an aerial lead from the master panel's rf out to my wall socket, i'm then able to watch terrestrial tv and sky on the link tv's but i can' t view terrestrial tv on the av9000, alternatively if i plug the aerial lead from the sky box to the main rf ('uhf/vhf') socket on the tv, i can then watch terrestrial tv on the av9000 but nothing on any of the link tv's ?

if it's any help, i know the link frequency used by the avant was 479

    thanks in advance...

    steve

there is a little srew on the video on the right back side near the areal plugs how
you can adjust the link frequency.

    Good luck

Why don't you attach the Sky box via SCART into the AV socket? That is how I run mine. To be fair, I don't have it linked though but that should work. I don't have an aerial between the Sky box and the AV9000.

    thanks ulf/peter,

ulf, unfortunately doesn't look like i can set the link frequency to anything below 599, but thanks for the info anyway.

peter, i have it connected via the scart and can watch the sky through it, but i need to have the aerial setup for the link tv's, otherwise i can't get a picture on them whatsoever.

    thanks...

Don't you have the normal aerial going into the AV9000 and the RF going to the link room. The only difference is that the link rooms will use V.Aux for the Sky as opposed to DTV/SAT.

that's what i don't understand, if i put the normal aerial into either of the aerial sockets on the av9000 and the rf to the link rooms, i can't get any tv signal on the link tv's, but it's fine if i put the avant back in it's place?

    thanks again...

"if i plug the aerial lead from the sky box to the main rf ('uhf/vhf') socket on the tv, i can then watch terrestrial tv on the av9000 but nothing on any of the link tv's ?"

Therefore you must have a lead from your aerial socket on wall to the sky box aerial in, lead from rf output 1 or 2 on sky box to the AV 9000

If you were getting Sky in other rooms with some configuration involving the av9000, then your link room tv,s must be tuned to the output frequency of your skybox, this assumes that the av 9000 is not on the same link frequency as the avant.

Why don't you try just plugging your aerial return feed into the other output of the sky box
