You need To setup you graphic card to output S-VHS,  the card has it's one program where you chance the settings.

What is the make and model of your Laptop and I can then check what graphics card it has installed and hopefully from there we can establish the problem ?

So, the Laptops graphics card is fine, it is a ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 with shared VGA memory.

It has a compatible S-Video output which is switched with "Function" F4 as you have stated.

By pressing and holding the "Function" key and press F4 you should toggle between laptop screen and external display or dual display.

You previously stated that when you hit "Function" and F4 the laptop screen did not change, this may be because it is in dual display mode which is the default.

Check the AVANT has Camcord on the display and if it does not then bring it up from the Beo4. Normally it would change automatically when a signal appears on the S-Video input. Is Camcord on the AVANT display ?

    Regards Keith....

If I may add.. My Dell D810 is a widescreen portable.. But wen connecting to my BV3.. I only get a 4:3 instead of a 16:9 screen. This is for 99% sure related to the ATI graphics Radeon Mobile X600.. Has anyone else been able to connect their widescreen portable to a normal TV and have a widescreen picture without the aspect-ratio distortion?

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

    OR

You can right-click on your desktop (with cable connected in both ends, and no programs running) choose "grafic options -> output to -> tv"

After watching - do the same, and instead of tv, choose "notebook"

I've goet a F/S laptop myself, and couldn't get it to work, just by pressing the FN+F4 keys.
