    Net Radio problem

I recently installed tne new version of Beoport and now can not connect to net radio. The net music function works fine. Net radio worked fine before the update. I have reinstalled multiple times, reregistered multiple times, and turned firewalls off to see if that would help. Still no luck. Any suggestions on how to get net radio to work? I keep getting a message that says server not responding

Well, N.Radio on the new version certainly does work, other than un-installing/installing Beoport have you made any other chnages to your PC during the same time period ? What stations have you tried to connect too ?

    Re: Net Radio problem

I have made no other changes to the computer. Net Radio worked fine until the update was installed. Beoport connects with the server fine for getting CD info but at the top of the list of radio stations I get a message "unable to connect to server". I am really baffled by this. Thanks for the input and any ideas.

    Re: Net Radio problem

I am afraid I can give no hint as to what might be the problem, but I had the same problem. For me going back to the old beoport version solved the problem (after deinstalling the new one).

    Cheers,

    Re: Net Radio problem

After updating to the latest version there is the problem, that if I select N.MUSIC from any room, the Beoport sw hangs: you can open the side menue and it looks like N.MUSIC is playing, but you cannot control the sw any more and no sound could be heard.

It only happens when the Beoport was not in use for a certain time, e.g. one day.

Has anyone observed a similar behaviour or is it just my system?

How did you reinstall the old version of Beoport? I wanted to try that but I can not find it on the web page to download.

    Re: Net Radio problem

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on your problem.

Given you say that is shows "unable to connect to the server" means that the download of stations did not happen that's why you cannot use N.Radio. When you update the Beoport software, it needs to download a fresh copy of the N.Radio database before it will work.

I think it is unlikely to be a problem with the Beoport software itself, but it could be some kind of contention issue with the new version of software with something else on your PC.

I think you need to take a step back to the previous version which you can download from my server HERE. Save this previous version to disk and the un-install the currently installed version 4.65 and reboot your PC, then click on the saved version 4.61 you have just download.

None of the previous versions are available on the B&O web site.

    Re: Net Radio problem

I finally had success. I had an unused anti virus program on the computer. I uninstalled it and now net radio works as it should. Has anybody else noticed that in addition to the tiny album covers that are displayed if one clicks on "info" on the right hand virtual beo 4 a much larger version of the album cover appears?

    Re: Net Radio problem

I am pleased you succeeded in getting N.Radio working. Cartainly conflict with multiple Anti-virus programs will give problems. I guess that it previously worked because the previous version of Beoport was installed before the conflicting anti-virus programme. I would also guess that one of the anti-virus programmes was either Norton or Mcafee both of which I find less than perfect.

Anyway, its good that everything is now working..
