I love my Beolit, it is standing in the kitchen and worthwile listining to it every morning.

But.. I have trouble with the volume potmeter, it is crackling when I move it from left to right.

My dealer told me, you will have to live with it, there are no more new potmeters in spare parts to get.

Is there any other solution to it? 

Given it's age it is possible it needs cleaning. Worth a try anyway.

I  am cleaning this little **** about two times in a year, using and trying fluids from different brands.

Hopefully a dealer reads this post and quote "I have a brand new somewhere in my spareparts". I have a dream.. 

I recently purchased a Beolit 611 on eBay & it has the identical problem.  When changing the volume - crackling is awful.  How would you even attempt to clean this?  Would you have to disassemble the radio?  Assistance would be most appreciated!

Most potentiometers can be taken apart, cleaned and put back together.

It's probably oxidation on the metal track parallel to the resistive track.

I doubt you will be able to find a new potentiometer so this would be the things to try.

Contact cleaner won't remove anything, only losen the dirt and shift it around and in the best case it won't add to the mess.
