Hi folks

I got hold on an old Beomaster 1900 which works fine in Radio mode .. (besides a few light bulbs not working anymore which one should i take for replacing) but i also intend to connect an iPod to this old beauty.

 I made myself a adapter cable (two times) but the volume of the iPod is to low to play it like this. (also my laptop connected to the Beomaster has a very low volume)

My question is this a internal beomaster 1900 error which i have to repair, or was it designed to have an preamplyfied signal and so i have to link a small amplivier inbetween ?

Hi Mogh and welcome to Beoworld. There should be no problem connecting an iPod or Laptop to it. Suggest you check the connections in the Lead you made.

I have two 2400's and the volume on the tape input (using a laptop / ipod) is much  lower than the radio volume. There's an adjustment inside the beomaster for this but I haven't bothered to fix it. The source does have to be at max volume. Is it possible you're sending the signal into the tape output part of that connector instead of the input? That would result in a *very* weak signal.

I bought an Din to Cinch adapter cable and it works fine now.

This issue occurs when the input and output are wired the wrong way round. I've noticed the same thing on all my BeoMasters...
