    AFAIK it cannot be done on a MK1, at least not without changing the circuit board.

    Regards Graham

    For about £50 you could have it upgraded to an English Mark II phone

    No need to change the circuit, it can be done by flashing the corresponding software!
    You will have to ask your dealer though

    I think we have been here before Gerd. Neither Keith nor my dealer think this is possible.

    I have a Dutch and German phone among my 6000's. Once set up to my system they work fine so in my view there is no need for any expense. The menu's are the same, just a different language. Only takes 5 or 10 minutes to work it out. These other languages can't be that difficult to use, even the children in these countries can work it out!Laughing

    Regards Graham

    I've never flashed a UK software but I'm sure it is only software related.
    All you have to do is choose the right SW in the Beocom ServiceTool.
    Check picture below (red arrow).

    Does this work with a Mk1 Beocom 6000?

    Re: Beocom 6000 menu language change

    What I wrote is true for the MKI. The MKII language can be selected in the handset menu.

    Re: Beocom 6000 menu language change

    Gerd,

    You are correct that both Mark I & Mark II Beocom 6000's can be updated with new firmware and there is different firmware for each country.

    Below is the UK command file which confirms this fact.

    [SwPackSection]
    ConfigFile=bc6000hs.cfg
    HexFile=06101315.hsf
    LoadEepromFile=BC6000H_GB25_1.swp
    Info=BeoCom 6000 handset software version 2.5 for United Kingdom, country version 25_1.
    hwver=9810

    However, to have the handsets firmware updated it would have to be taken to a dealer to connect an adapter to the handset for that update to take place. Given it is a Mark I handset, it is only a small cost to upgrade it to a Mark II which automatically comes with the latest firmware.

    Regards Keith....
