As I said, Leon looked as he does in his photo', that is until he stood up.
He is absolutely massive! The best piece of 9 feet tall!
Here he is looking down on a Beolab 1, checking for dust!

    Poor me, never win owt!

Re: My trip to visit Beoworlder, Ed in Holland...........Photo's by Andy T.

Leon had actually turned up to collect his new Beo5 but we were all busy drinking coffee and chatting that it didn't seem like a matter of urgence that his Beo5 was configured.
I asked Fred if he had plenty of Beo5s in stock.
I expected him to say "2 or 3" but no, he had plenty.
Now up to now, I had posted the only picture on Beoworld with more than one Beo5. I had collected Peter's along with my own from King Street and had photographed them when I got home. I was about to be out done!

Now, we had just made a big mistake by lining all these remotes up in front of a Beovision 9.
    Can you think what?

    Poor me, never win owt!

As Paul Collingwood once said... "I'm stumped"!!! Laughing

No idea! I do know, though, that Ed will be dealt with in a thoroughly English manner when I next get hold of him!! Where on Earth did he find that picture of me? Explain yourself! Devil

While we were in the shop, I picked up a magalogue which was freely available to any visitor. There was a big pile of them on the raised floor. At least I have one now, even though it's in dutch! I was also given an EdBaak, B&O pen.

    Poor me, never win owt!

Re: My trip to visit Beoworlder, Ed in Holland...........Photo's by Andy T.

The atmosphere in Fred's shop is really good, I felt at home and amongst friends. We stayed there for about 2 or 3 hours chatting and drinking coffee. Eventually, we said our good-byes and left the shop. We would see Leon and Tonni later on that evening.
As we walked towards the nearby baker's shop, Ed suddenly stopped and said "Wait there, I'll be back in a minute"
He went back in Fred Baak's shop and emerged with a small white box. "For you" he said.

    Poor me, never win owt!

Gosh Nigel, 2000! It almost seems ashame to spoil that nice round figure by making this post.
I remember I used to look at the number of posts on the old forum and see high posters like Peter and Killyp (as Alex was then), and think  "Bloody hell, I'm never going to be that sad"

Yes Leon, we had a great day, and more photo's to come yet. As for every moment being Beotime, does that mean I'll do everything about three months late now? Good, that will give me time to save up for Christmas.........in April

Well, we set of back to Ed's home and on the way called into a petrol station for fuel.
Ed bought me my first pair of Dutch clogs there. The ones on the left.

Just as we neared Ed's house, we took a slight detour where we stopped and took the next three photo's.
Absolutely beautiful! This is the real Holland.

This windmill is actually a restaurant now.  It was built in 1858 but there has been a mill on this site since the thirteenth century!

    Andy,

You diary of your visit to Holland has been very interesting particularly you visit to Fred's shop, thats what I call a real B&O dealer, with gifts as well, you will never be late for your meetings !!

One thing which was quite noticeable and I have heard it from other sources related to the Beo5 availability, some countries are getting a much large allocation of initial units than others. If Fred's shop is anything to go by he has received a very large initial allocation..

    Regards Keith....
