Hi,
I heard many complains about condensation inside the new iMac 24' screen.
A large patch of condensation on the inside of the glass screen bottom
right hand corner has been reported by recent customers.
It appeared about an hour after the first boot and took
about 4-5hours to disappear. For some it reappeared later on.
Some think it shows when the iMac (now with a hard metal case) has been cold and in a
storage room for some time. Then it's rapidly heated up after being switched
on for the first time causing the condensation.
Others are speaking about environmental conditions (cold area or a humid area).
Could there be outgassing of chemicals used
in manufacture that could be responsible and if so, why the same right
lower corner for everyone so far? There must be a rational explanation.
Any ideas appreciated.
Now, knowing the glass panel is attached with magnets, should it be the main reason of this issue ?
Some customers went to Apple Store to let them know about this problem. They got informed that they'd had two iMacs returned with condensation under the glass panel.
By the way, this issue seems fixable (by Apple) as the glass panel is removable:

I am crossing my fingers as my new iMac 24' is being concerned with this condensation issue....
