    finally I switched.....

    Hello,

Time has come to me to switch for the Mac world.

After 14 years with a PC, I came to my mind and made a purchase yersterday from the Apple Store :

    IMAC 24' /SD
    - 2.4GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
    - 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
    - 320GB Serial ATA Drive
    - SuperDrive 8X(DVD+R DL/DVD+RW)
    - Apple wireless Mighty Mouse
    - Apple wireless Keyboard & MAC OS X-FRA
    COUNTRY KIT-FRA

I am just waiting for the upcoming Leopard OS X coming the 26th of this month. For less than 10 euros (update).
It should be at my doorstep before the end of this week (it was shipped today...).

    Cheers,

    Guy

    Congratulations, Guy!

I made the same choice as you (but in 20") a month ago and I haven't regretted it for a single moment since.

    Thanks for your reply all.

Great that you enjoy your new iMac.
Mine will just compliment my current B&O A/V installation.

BTW, no condensation on the bottom right side of your iMac's glass panel ?

    Cheers,

GuyHui, Welcome to the club... of Mac ownership, that is. My father got me into Apple, as he was a fine artist who had to "relearn" his "old world" ways to compete in a new environment. He started with the old Apple beige boxes, believe me, you'll quickly come to love your iMac.

On my wish list! My MacBook Pro is great, but I'm finding it's an absolute pain to try and use it as a desktop machine and on the go. Not enough drive space for my iTunes music, but awkward to use with external HDDs (can't bring them with me).

Beautiful !!  On my wish list too - but i'll need to save for a while longer..

It takes about an hour to get used to Mac, and then you'll feel like you've used one all your life.  You'll also notice that everything just works - no nonsense, no messing.  Oh, and say goodbye to crashes, freezes and viruses.

    Hi Lee, Thanks for comments.
I agree, with Mac, no hassle, no pain, no virus. It's just easy going even for a newbie to get use to it.
It's a real pleasure as it compliments any B&O installation.
    Cheers,

Complements both in function and aesthetics!

I had fun last night creating a line-up for some visiting friends:

A Beosystem 6500, the MCP6500, Beolink 5000, BV8, iMac 24", my daughter's Macbook (Black casing), my iPod Touch. And adding the Edge Dinovo keyboard from Logitech, which looks as if it was designed to fit with the above.
All appear to be in the same family -- and you really can't get it into your head that there are nearly 20 years separating the Beosystem from the BeoVision/iMac.

If only my Mac mini came in black ...

    Great pictures Guy.
Your Mac looks like it belongs on the lovely glass table.
I see your Swiss cheese plant has flowered, how did you make it do that? We had one for about ten years and it grew taller than me but never flowered!

    Big Smile
I had help carrying when my friends were here!
Will put them together to show the design coherence, though. Remotes in one shot; iMac, BV8 and a Beomaster in another.
Should be able to post them this evening.

The Edge Dinovo keyboard is perfect with its integrated mousepad. It also has media controls. You just have to swallow hard and accept that the Apple-Command key equivalent carries a Windoze logo, and is where the alt-key is on a Mac keyboard.
