    Beomedia 1

    Hi All,

Can anyone answer a few questions re the beomedia 1

    What is the HD capacity?

Does it work with non B&O TV's?

Does the TV have to be LCD?

How does it connect to the TV and HIFI i.e. which cables?

To use it in other rooms, do you need a TV in each room to navigate your music?

How does it compare to some of the wireless streaming systems which are available? bearing in mind my main aim is to use it for music storage.

    Can you add external HD's?

    Cheers

    1/ 160GB

    2/ Probably not

    3/ No

4/ To the TV with Scart and VGA if the TV has it. It connects additionally using MasterLink.

5/ No you can use the N.MUSIC button on the remote.

6/ Airport Express and Apple TV (for a recent tv) can be of interest as well and much cheaper.

    7/ I don't think.

...and the capacity of the latest version is 250GB instead of 160GB.

    To clarify:

You can use this with a non-B&O TV as long as you have Beo4 and the external IR receiver.

You can add external drives to Beomedia by USB (for instance) and link the drive into the BM-SHARE directory.

Adding an external drive should be a nice option for my HDR1

There is an update kit for the HDR-1 which will increase the capacity and make it more or less identical to the HDR-2, the cost of the kit is just above £120 the last time I checked.
