    Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

Does anyone know whether BM-Link runs on Leopard?  It could make Friday a little stressful if it doesn't.

    Great news!

Logged in here to check if anyone had tested it yet, since I'm currently in the US, and the development machine for BM-Link is stowed away in a storage room back home in Sweden  :)

Aha, I've never used the FrontRow function and I'm actually happy the color buttons don't work anymore, I always managed to get into a fine mess using them!

    N.RADIO works without problems

Still pleased with Leopard, it just feels smoother.

Can anyone test how it works with the new iTunes 7.5 and report back here?

BM-Link check the version of iTunes in order to handle some differences between versions, and it seems like the scripts only handle version numbers with a single decimal (the string "7.5" can be converted to a number, but "7.3.2" can't)

(Still in the US, still no access to my development machine)

I have a Problem with BM-Link 1.5. Leopard and iTunes 7.5. It's did not work. I press N.Musik from the Beo4, nothing happens. I look as well to the BM-Link Website and saw that the actual Firmware Version is 1.3.1, I updated my BeoPort but nothing chance.

    Any Idea?

I suggest you contact the developer directly as he may not be reading this forum.

    Re: Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

iTunes 7.5 and BM-link do not like eachother! I could not access BM-link in the System Preferences. So, I uninstalled iTunes 7.5 and BM-link and went back to iTunes 7.4.2. and installed BM-link again. Now it works again, with the known limitations already mentioned.

I used AppZapper to remove iTunes 7.5: http://appzapper.com/
    I downloaded iTunes 7.4.2 from versiontracker.com: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10227&vid=453222

    Re: Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

It appears that Leopard with iTunes 7.5 on Intel machines does not like BM-link 1.5.

I'm using Leopard with  iTunes 7.4.2. which, besides the color buttons mentioned in previous posts, is working fine.

The versiontracker points to apple who seems to have removed 7.42 - tried to google but can't find - anyone here who can share the 7.42dmg file or knows where to get hold of it?

    Thx

    Re: Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

    Hi everybody,

I have a weird problem w/ BM-Link. It used to run on my Leopard iMac (not sure which iTunes version, however). At some point I plugged one of these USB card readers into a spare USB port - which created some havoc on my USB bus (Parallels would freak out, for instance). Some days later I wanted to listen to iTunes music on my B&O - nothing. In the meantime iTunes 7.5 had installed, so I thought I follow the tips here and downgraded - no luck. Still silence on my speaker.

Funny enough, though, when I fire up Parallels and use B&O's own stupid BeoPort software, everything works fine. So it can't be the BeoPC box, it's got to be something on MacOSX - but what? I noticed I can not shut down BM Link - if I click on shut down, it say shuttign down, and that's it - no progress. And BM Link's three processes hang around forever. I can kill (-11) them, though. Anyone have a clue?

    cheers

    Re: Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

Torsten; when you try to stop the BM-Link and it starts to "wait" - disconnect the powercord or the USB to the beoport - this should stop BM link.

Uninstall BM-Link, reboot and re-install BM link...make sure that you have iTunes 7.42 loaded......connect everything again - check that the BM link logo at the top right is on ON as well - i had a simillar problem and i had to start/stop multiple times in the preference menu before i got it working....Good luck -- Klas

    Hi Klas,

thanks for that hint. I tried it - but to no avail. Uninstalled BMLink, reinstalled it, stopped it ("waiting...") unplugged BeoPC - nothing. You write you had to do start/stop multiple times. Did you always unplug the BeoPC?

     cheers

    Re: Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

hmmm....only had to unplug it once...than i could start/stop it without problems from the system prefference menu......sounds like a SW issue for sure; not sure what it could be that is causing the conflict - tried without iTunes installed?

    Re: Leopard and BM-Link 1.5

Ok, I played a little w/ installing/re-installing BM-Link while plugging Beolink PC in and out. I am at a point now, where the box switches on, when I press N.Music. But I have to manually start iTunes (7.4.2) to listen to music. So clearly something's broken. But what. Anyone have any clue?

Also, it seems that Parallels is confusing BMLink. Even though I did not map BeoLink PC to be a USB device visible to Parallels, BMLink was at some point complaining, that it was in use by some other program. Quitting Parallels cured this.

    Any thoughts anyone?

    Anders, where are you :-)?

    cheers
