BEOLINK 7000 STOPPED RESPONDING, ANY HELP & INPUT APPRICIATED

I HAVE HAS BEOLINK 7000 FOR MANY MANY YEARS. MY BEOMASTER'S 5500 MAIN MOTHERBOARD HAS BEEN UPGRADED SO IT WOULD COMMUNICATE WITH THE BEOLINK 7000. IT HAS WORKED FLAWLESSLY FOR SEVERAL YEARS, BUT SUDDENLY IT HAS STOPPED COMMUNICATING. THE BEOLINK WORKS ONE WAY, HOWEVER, I GET "NO CONTACT" CONSTANTLY, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TRY TO DO THE INITIAL SET-UP ETC. STILL CONTACT. IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, PLEASE ADVISE.

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Well it shows that the IR emitter on the 7000 works and that the receiver on the 5500 works. The fault seems to be either with the receiver on the 7000 or the emitter on the 5500. Do you have a link system? Does the 7000 work in a link room? If it does, the 5500 has a fault. If not, the 7000 receivers need attention. Tricky job! I believe one of our members, ridax, has experience in fixing these. There used to be a dedicated unit at Struer who made and fixed these but I think it no longer is in operation.

There are two little capacitors at the receiving point of the BL7000.

Replaces the two capacitors, then it goes again

They are under the metal shield, two SMD capacitors... and some more. There are 5 of them which should be replaced. The yellow ones ;)

And clean the board with water and paint thinner, the acid of the defect capacitors makes lots of trouble.

For replacement you can use miniature elkos instead, much easier for soldering.

    HI ULF,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVISE. WHAT TYPE OF CAPACITORS SHOULD I BUY AS A REPLACEMENT? AND ALSO SHOULD I REPLACE ALL 5 OR JUST THE 2 AT THE TOP NEXT TO THE IR TRANSMITTERS??

AGAIN MANY THANKS FOR YOUR ADVISE?

    HI MARTIN

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVISE. WHAT TYPE OF  SMD CAPACITORS SHOULD I BUY AS A REPLACEMENT? AND ALSO SHOULD I REPLACE ALL 5 OR JUST THE 2 VERTICAL ON THE LEFT FROM THE  IR TRANSMITTERS?? WOULD YOU HAVE ANY NUMBER AND (OR) SPECS WHEN I GO TO THE ELECTRONICS STORE TO TELL THEM WHAT IS THAT I NEED?

AGAIN MANY THANKS FOR YOUR ADVISE?

The advice above is good - but I would suggest that if you are not experienced in electronics, that you get someone to do this for you. It requires very fine soldering and a mistake could be quite expensive!

My Beolink 7000 has the same problem that AAVALENTA is experiencing. If replacing the capacitors would solve the problem this would be great. Anyone know what value capacitors to use ? Thanks to all, Larry.

Actually it turned out that it was the Beomaster at fault and not the Beolink. Unfortunately the values of the capacitors are not listed in the very sketchy service manual so it will be a case of seeing what you have when you open it up unless one of our experts can advise.

Thanks Peter, Hopefully someone has the values. I talked with Atlantic Systems here in the States and they did not here of this fix. They think it's a faulty module, and those are no longer availible. Larry.

    Sorry not,

the Capacitors can be 22uF 16 V SMD or Tantal.

My and any other BL7000  works fine after replacing the old Capacitors :)

    Look at these....
