Having to press GO before every command in Beo4

Hi all, I have a bit of a problem (or is it?) with my Beo4.. when watching DVD, if I want to skip to the next chapter, then I have to press GO and then ^. If I want to scan, I have to press GO then >>. However, on my friends Beo4, he doesn't need to press GO. He only need to press ^ or >>. Does anyone know if there's anything I've set up incorrectly?

    Thanks!

What is your set up - which TV and DVD?

Sorry I should have supplied that info in the first place. I have a Beocenter2 with non-B&O TV. I've set up the Beo4 as VIDEO 4 AUDIO 2.

    Thanks!

I had a sneaking suspicion it wouldn't be simple! Laughing I'll have to look that one up tonight if no-one else knows! Why Video option 4?

Re: Having to press GO before every command in Beo4

I'm afraid only the latest DVD players in the B&O range (that is, as from BV7-40) are making it possible to step through DVD chapters by a simple pressure on the arrows. Before that, you needed to press GO, then the arrow (BeoCenter 1, DVD1, BV7-32 etc). On the contrary, when playing a CD audio, only one direct pressure on the up or down arrows skips through tracks!

It would be so great if all B&O DVD players spoke the same language, hopefully the forthcoming products are more logical & user-friendly than the first ones..

    Reunion Island is greeting you!

No particular reason. I'm not sure how to set it up. There's Config and there's also Option - what's the difference between them?

I'll play with mine tonight! An early BC2. I have a feeling Chris is correct though. Of course a Beo5 would be able to get around this! Laughing

Oh that might explain it Chrisreunion. My Beocenter2 is an older one without DAB, and my friend just recently bought his brand new, so B&O might have changed this in the firmware. Can anybody please confirm that?

I was just astonished that I could skip chapters just pressing the arrows on his remote.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Is it possible to slow-forward (rather than fast-forward) with the Beo4?

Tried mine - a little odd as it is actually registered as V.Tape 2. But it needs the Go button first.
