    Very Creative B&O installation

I am not sure how well it performs in a moving auto, but check out the pictures in the B&O website community photos.

The only problem seems to be that the driver actually has to turn his/her back to this nice (stereo) system while listening... Cool

I want that too! Would be more expensive than my car though... (actually 5 times more expensive...)

The idea of using a beosound 2 in your car is very good, I have also thought of that my self, great to have a MP3-player you do not have to look at when operating.

Have any other B&O-nutter done this aswell? (Christian and I have installed the bas/midrange drives from a LX2802 in my VW Polo, but that does not really count in this leauge...)

Didn't you know that the BS9000 switches back a CD when you get to 88 mph? I suppose you wouldn't, I've never had a B&O setup moving at that speed...

Right, the Beo4 holder is there as a matter of fact, but I was more concerned by the sound being directed to the driver's ears from behind - (even if one set the RIGHT/LEFT switches on those BL3s in the 'opposite-to-the-usual' way so to speak, the sound would still come from behind) ... adding BL2 might though be relatively less complicated as the speaker is less placement-sensitive and less directional  Big Smile

The Pininfarina Enjoy had a BeoSound 2 providing music, with the two riders listening through specially designed helmets that B&O installed the intercom and speakers in.

That really original! Are you shure the BS9000 can play. Wouldn't the CD "jump" all the time?

The person or persons responsible for this install, did a very good job.  The incorporation into the car looks to be worthy of B&O.  I would love to hear this system.

Pretty nice car interior. Notice the BeoSound 2 in the armrest aswell!!

I don't think the BeoSound 9000 has an anti-shock system thoughStick out tongue. It is needed if the car is used for driving. But in the other hand, it is a DeLoreanBig Smile

    Re: Very Creative B&O installation

I thought the whole movie series was about the car never actually moved but was always broken....so can't be that much problem with the "shock resistance" :D

Grant me the serenity to accept the B&O I can't afford

Without knowing any details of this installation, I wouldn't be surprised if the BeoSound 2 delivers music while on the road, and the BeoSound 9000 does so while standing still. (Or else the 9000 is just placed there, without actually being attached, for the photo? I doubt it could run without skipping while you're driving. But then it's also possibly to modify that, of course.)

The radio in the BS9000 will of course work, and I listen most of the time in my car to the radio even if I got a nice CD-changer for 6 CD´s.

    Re: Very Creative B&O installation

Old thread I know, but if anyone is still interested, here are a few answers for the record. The 9000 is not intended to play CDs while the car is in motion, however "soundproof" was correct in guessing that the BeoSound 2 delivers the audio input on the move.  The 9000 unit travels very well in motion, and has cushioning for the unit and specifically the glass to counter motion caused in transit. Though it is primarily a showpiece, and despite seeming quite eccentric, it was a remarkably successful installation and the sound is of course exceptional. There are various other hidden functional aspects that make the system practicable, but the car has not been permanently altered to accomodate anything. The unit can also be plugged back into mains electricity indoors in situe. The idea was simply inspired by how well the look of vehicle and stereo seem to complement each other, and an enthusiam for both!

...so for the record, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is not the first gull-wing to incorporate Bang&Olufsen equipment....!

    Many thanks for the interest
