Now i finally have decided the color of BL 8000 MkII !!

I´m going to order a set of BL 8000 to my BV 7-40 dark grey.

I can´t decide if i should go for Red or Dark Grey or even Black?

I think like this: If i go with the Dark Grey color the system matches perfect...

The Red:s i think also match the dark Grey color in a positively way..They bring more life to the system i think, but can i live with them more than one year?

And Black are discrete and looks mysterious ...

I would go for dark grey. They match and will fit into allmost any decor, even the one you will have in 10 years.

    Living room: BV7-40 mkIV + V8000, BL5, BL3, BM1 and BS9000. Bedroom: MX3000 and BL4500 on MCL2-AV. Around: PentaIII, CX100 and MCX35 on ML/MCL + MCL2-A, BeoPort and BL4 on ML, BS3300 + M75 as stand alone, BC6000 + BC600 and BT1100, LC1, LC2, Beo4, Beo5 and BL1000, BS2 and A8, EarSet2, Apron, Coffee mugs, Enamel Bagdes, Bath towel, Keyring, Books, Lots of miniature and the Bottle opener. Office: BC2300 + BL2500 and BS3. Summer house: BS Century.

    Addicted? Oh no.... ;)

I agree, and IMO the red ones look "cheap".

I'd like to say buy the red. I love the red, however long term you might regret it.

In all black i think they lose their shape (kinda like BV7 in black)... but the grey is stunning as is the silver/black, but in your case i'd recommend the grey.

Dark grey really is not that bad, especially with a dark grey BV7. I have a black/silver (standart) BV7 and was considering the dark grey BL8000 too, but then I decided for the all blacks, which are really stunning IMO. Get the dark grey ones, they look very stylish.

This will sound a bit crazy but i think i go for the Black BL 8000 instead of the Dark Grey ones...

I have found out that the BL 8000 Dark grey have also a bright grey front cover..And i don´t think it going to look so good with my BV7...

I considered that Black BL 8000 with my Dark grey BV 7 will give a greater contrast and more impact in the system..

    What do you think?

The reds look amazing with the dark grey tv. I think you have to be brave to buy them because they do make such a statement but I think they do really work in this setup.

Re: I can´t decide color of BL 8000 ! Red or Dark Grey is the question?

    Hi Beolab!

My choice would be the BL8000 in dark grey. The grey front (much like the charcoal front of the Pentas) would fit nicely with the dark grey BV7. If I were to get some dark grey ones I would probably order a pair of black covers as I like the optical contrast between the speaker and the front (this optical effect is much less visible with the grey fronts). The red ones are a nice contrast (and a touch of colour), but I wouldn't go for them... okay, I am a bit conservative Wink

I saw the all black BL 8000 only once but imho they lack the optical contrast between speaker and fornt (like grey BL8000 with grey covers).

My choice would be dark grey BL8000 with black fronts.

    Cheers

Go for black with dark grey frets. Outstanding match with your BV7 and great contrast. All dark grey look too discrete IMO.

Black IMO, is probably more timeless that red and dark grey ;) Silver and black is really common so black will set it apart. You might get tired of grey or red. Depends on your own taste though.

    Dear Frederick:

I have a pair of dark gray BL 8000 and they look great.  Are you going to use them as front or rears?

Recently, I received a set of BL 9s.  I contemplated them in reds but the red look to orange to me.  I have seen the BL 8000 in reds and red is Ferrari red; though, not call that due to copy right issues.

The dark gray BL 8000 are very nice.  I like the fact that they are not as shiny as the aluminum ones which mixes in nicely with surroundings.

Black and gray may be too much and not mix in as nicely.

Enjoy and send pic. when you decide.

    Interesting thread!
I will agree with most of the recommendations above,

I have not see Gray or Black personally but these would be my preference:
    1. Dark Gray with Black
    2. Black with Gray

Here in US we only have silver and black - which would probably be my first choice ;)
    Thank for all there pictures!

Dark Grey or Black would be my choice. With the Red I get the feeling that after a while you would want to change. Any reason why you don't want them as they originally came, in Alluminium?

Re: I can´t decide color of BL 8000 ! Red, Black or Dark Grey is the question?

I went to my dealer today!=) (Saturday)  My plan was only to switch a Powerlink cable from 5 meters to 2,5 meters, but when i went out of the store i was a lucky owner of a pair of (New) BL 8000 Black Edition MK II and a Beolab 2 sub !!Big SmileCool  ( I like the B&W PV1 but BL2  is in another league when i compared the two subwoofers today i must say. Not so fast as the PV1 but have a dryer bass and more dept..)

And the sound?!!: The sound is awesome!!!  Party!!!

I don´t like the BL9 so i taught this combination was as near the BL 9:s sound quality, but have 10 times better design!=)

    Nice setup!

Why did you choose BL 7-2 and not 7-4?

    Tjena Daniel!

    In English:

Because the BL 7-4 sounds like an empty can i comparison to BL 7-2... The voices are a little bit clearer in BL 7-4 but thats all..

The 7-2 sounds and looks better combined with BL 8000 also...Wink

Tillykke med dit nye setup :-)

Congrats with your new setup :-) I heard that the B&W PV1 should be a little faster as you said yourself, but the BL2 looks great together with the rest.

Now enjoy your new speakers Party!!!

    Thanks mate! Wink

Yes the sound are way better than at my dealer... I must say that the sound are not far away from BL 9 sound.. The BL 9 give the voices a bigger "body" than the BL 8000 but i think they have equal detailing in the upper mid and treble though.. And the Bass from the BL2 are bigger and deeper than BL9 but a little less accuracy sometimes... But in the end the sound is awesome i most say!

And i´m sorry for the messy pictures with the cabling all over the place and more and more.. I´m going to fix that, and put in an oriental carpet underneath the BV 7 and BL 8000´s.. I think  it will look kind of elegant...

I must ask you about your avatar picture (Photoshoped BV9) ? Is that your living room in your house??=) It looks like a castle or something! Castles + B&o equipment are stunning i think! =)

    Hi Fredrik

What about the placement of the 8000's? can your get them more away from your new BV7_40?

My avatar isn't photoshoped you should see a 32" Avant in silver in my living room.!

It's a old "evangelical wing of the Church of Denmark" and it's from 1933, so it's more churchish than a Castles. We bought it May this year, and both my wife and I fell total in love with this house from the first day we saw it, the originally plan was to build a new house, but this you just can't build today, there are so many details.

It's correct that I have put a picture in here in an other topic that are photoshoped with some of my dream setup (BV9 and two BL5, though my wish list dosn't stop there -lol-) I have also made an other dream photoshoped picture that would be more realistic for my rang (BV5 with 4 BL1 and BS-9000) Wink

You can find some of the pictures in other topics, I woudn't spam your topic with pictures :)

    Regards Anders
