Don't know... It must be coming fairly soon as I have been invited to an exclusive preview at my local B&O store next week (unfortunately, I cannot attend).  However, the invite only says it will be available "later this year".

Re: What is the latest on BV7?

Store floor models should be getting to the stores last days of may. So June is still accurate. I get to tell you all about it early next month when I get some time with it.

What will the resolution be? any chance it will be 1080? Any thoughts on how the picture will compare to the Beovision 9? We have been considering a Beovision 9 but it might be a little large for where we want to put it. Is it worth waiting for the 7?

    Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s

It is a 1080 screen. But so will the BV9.

Re: What is the latest on BV7?

It is a really great set. The picture quality was stunning. We could tell little difference from the built in DVD player to the Panasonic BlueRay we had hooked up to it.  Like I said before Full HD 1080p resolution. Built in beosystem 3, and its not like the BeoVision 9 that is just fitted in the back but its built into the unit. Same number of connections and BS3, same picture improvments, same sound connections, same cinema capabilities. etc etc.

Motorized Wall bracket, floor stand or table stand as well as a fixed table stand. 7-2 or 7-4 to pick from.

The display was changed from red to white :-)

Then I highly doubt that Europe will see the same. An improved chassis over there, maybe. A full blown BS3 no way at the same price point that they have now.

So Alex, since you know both would you choose the BV7 or pay up for the BV4 42" promo package with a BC2 stacked on top? Is it worth the increased price to you?

Re: What is the latest on BV7?

Well, it just makes sense to get the BV7 mainly because of the price.

If you get the BV4 42" with all the other stuff and BeoCenter 2  you are looking a lot more than a BV7 even with the promo package. and also, the BV4 42" is a 1024 x 768 resolution compared to the BV7s 1920 x 1080. also ur getting a 7-2 instead of a 7-1.

If you really are considering one, go put your down payment now! haha

Re: What is the latest on BV7?

Hi ! the Upgrade BV7-40 will have a full HD panel (1920x1080P), with built in BS3 and the same number of connections as the BS3.

The launch i europe will be  aug/sept 2007.

From insider (not confirmed) have been informed that the BV7 even will be launched with 46" panel and a new speaker BL7-3, similar to BL7-2 but wider. You can off course instead choose the the BL7-4 as a alternative. Expect in stores at the end af year.

B&O aren't going to produce two different versions of the same TV. Economies of scale dictate against this. There will be one BV7-40, upgraded with a mini BS3 based chassis, improved panel and more. Estimated to be released in August, first in the US and soon after elsewhere.

I notice that members from Europe seem reluctant to see a Beovision 7 with a complete Beosystem 3 integrated inside it. On the contrary, I think that this is a very good thing: HDMI connections, high performance scaler, full surround capabilities, etc. There are so many complaints with the current European version that a major upgrade is certainly welcome.

I will test the TV at the end of May.

They did that before though with the Avant.  There are significant differences between standards for Europe and US. The economy of scale for the US might be achieved by using the BS3. Everything that we head sofar says that the US BV7 will have the full BS3 functionality while everything we heard about the European one says there is a mini version of it.

I guess we will see but I wouldnt be surprised if US has BS3 to get economies of scale with BV9 and BV4 and Europe works based on a mini BS3 / new chassis not to cause the overlapping product line / pricing issues that the US will have.

If it would be easy to use the same global chassis we in the US would certainly see more TVs like the BC6 which we will probably not.

    Cheers

I do not watch Mr Trumps show but it seems they used the BV7 in there.

Absolutely no-one has said it won't be based around a BS3. However, have you ever seen the size of the BS3 and the BV7-40? You can't simply stick a BS3 on the back of a BV7 - it will be too large and cumbersome (it's already very heavy). What's going to happen is that the BS3 will be integrated in to the chassis. The same TV (with the new chassis) will appear worldwide, but will be launched in the US first.

The most important bit of this entire discussion is when it will be released. In this discussion, someone said 24th of April, but that's been and gone..

Are you sure about two different versions for USA and Europe? Why?

Re: What is the latest on BV7?

Not sure. But we do keep hearing for a long time that it will use the BS3. Also note the price difference between Europe and US. If you add stand and HDD  which I think the BV9 has you get a pricing structure between products that is somewhat realistic giving the BV9 is 10"larger. The BV7 in Europe is priced much lower, more like mid class. Keep in mind overthere they qoute with taxes which can be up to 20%.

Selling the BV7 in the US without full BS3 would be a bad deal, selling it with BS3 in Europe would be too good and throw their pricing structure off.

Again I am just assuming based on what I read and what I heard. I am following this topic for a very long time, it popped up actually 2 or 3 years ago where they (B&O) tried to explain why they don't have LCD TVs in the US.

Lastly, TV standards are very different between countries. The BS3 is mostly designed at controlling an outside box, which is very common for the US while in Europe customers are all after fully integrated tuners.

Will see what happens. Personally I would hope for some sort of BS3 mini system for the US because that would give us more hope that they introduce smaller TVs. Which is not on the horizon I believe.

All the people are saying that BV7 will have a new chasis based on BS3, at least a reduced version. I hope that they will be right.

    Thank you very much.

Re: What is the latest on BV7?

Morgan - that's just what B&O dealers in the UK have been telling us for the last couple of months. New all-digital BS3-based chassis. The only issue is, when! No-one knows for sure, even the dealers.
