    BV 3 28" Questions

    Hi ,

A couple of questions on behalf of a friend of mine.

His BV 3 28" doesn't seem to have the famous curtains, was this an option, if so, is it possible to have  the option installed?

Secondly , the motorised tv stand...................could it be butchered/adapted to go under a beo cabinet of some sort and is it powerful enough to move the lot together?

If anyone knows of anyone with a motor cabinet  they don't want could you point them in my direction.

    Thanks in anticipation

The BV3-28 was effectively a low cost set designed to bring the customers in. By the time one added all the nice extra, one could see the 32" was the way to go. The 28" was based on the MX/BV1 chassis and doesn't have the opening curtain feature. I would go for an Avant 28 if you don't want a 32" screen as it is still the same basic Avant chassis. They are so cheap now that they make perfect sense.

    Thanks Peter

I advised him to go for a 32 but he is a tight wad and thought he'd got a bargain,i think he's beginning to wish he'd listened.

    Thanks again

    Re: BV 3 28" Questions

If your friend's motor base has the part no. 1417911, then it will NOT function as a base to go underneath the cabinet and you may want to contact a dealer. If it has part no. 1406666, then it will function as both, either to go underneath the TV, or double up and go underneath the cabinet.

You don't say where you are based, but I just asked them and B&O in Bath (local dealer) have a brand new motor unit for turning the stand available.

    Hi and thanks!

Based in Oxford so not too far to collect.

All my friend needs now is a cabinet to go with it too.

But really appreciate you taking the time to find out for me.

Bath don't happen to have a cabinet too do they?

Or do you know of one anywhere?

    Thanks again

I think you might be in luck! I'm pretty sure they have a 3 drawer cabinet available (although I might be wrong).

    I'd give them a ring on monday  01225 445211

Have a good weekend too btw!

IMO the 3 drawer cabinet looks so much better the the open fronted one they did.

We have the motor unit but not the three-drawer cabinet which everyone seems to agree was a Very Useful Cabinet but was unfortunately discontinued thus the scarcity. If you mail me on Monday on bath@bang-olufsen.co.uk , I can ask around the UK West Country dealerships.
