    Hello Ian,

So you lose 17h recording time - But you gain a DVD drive

Exactly, but I have already 4 dvd players,  2 of them are dvd recorders.

Regarding the STB-C situation - What does that mean exactly - It can't record a digital signal (from an external box)?

You can record from it, but you cannot control the external tuner box with Beo4, you must use its original remote to control the box.

Is it possible to use the STB controller that is built into a BV6 and connect the STB (via SCART) to the DVD2? In that case it should be possible to record digital programs and use the Beo4 to switch the channels on the STB.

    I think you can't,

The STB only works along with a scart related in the same device, so a STB inside a BV control a box plugged into a BV scart; the STB fitted in the HDR2 only control a external box plugged in its own "AUX" scart.

But if you have the B&O built-in DVB-T module, that would solve that problem? There must be some limiting factor to the DVD2 to create the need for the DVD2 and the HDR2.

Yes; the DVD2 can record from the built-in BV tuner, but in composite video quality, if the decoder is directly connected to the DVD2 the quality will be RGB...much better.

On new chassis TV (BV7, BV6), you can control the STB that is connected at the back of the HDR1 or V8000 with the STB-C of the TV set. I am pretty sure that can be done with the DVD2 as well.

Which TV have you got Santiago?

Ok, didn't know that, my avantDVD32 is almost 6 years old...
