    BeoCom 6000 not charging?

    Hi all,

    Can anyone help me?

I have a single BeoCom 6000 and the phone began to lose its charge quite rapidly, until the other day it just refused to work :-)

I have since bought a new battery and even that has not worked, it still refuses to charge up!

Is there any common faults with this handset and how can I get it repaired?

    Thanks in adavance!

Make sure that the charger light turns green when you set it down to charge. It is stays red, you probably have bad contacts. If the charger is fine then the handset may have an internal issue and may need service.

Hi Haze and welcome to Beoworld.
Do you have the pyramid charger that has no light?
If so it may be difficult to tell whether it is charging or not.
What I suggest you do is clean the contacts on both the handset and the charger. Cotton buds dipped in Isopropanol or something similar is good for this.
As soon as you put the handset, which is switched off, on the charger it should switch on and you should get a red flashing light on the handset.
Try this then let us know the result, we'll take it from there.

    Hi there,

The pyramid has no light to show charging, I have cleaned the contacts and even opened the case to make sure all the soldier is still intact but still nothing :-(

I was wondering if it was the charging plaug and lead as I have noticed that the wire twists into the plug itself, can you buy these?

Thanks for the assistance all appreciated.

    Regards,

    Haze...

    Re: BeoCom 6000 not charging?

I bought one of these chargers from my dealer about three years ago. I had bought a pyramid charger in Spain but needed to use it in the UK.
I'm sure it was les than £5. I still have the Spanish one, if it's any use to you, you can have it for nowt.  In which country do you live?

    hi all,

    back from newborn hiatus.

having same issues w/ a 6000. i installed new battery + cleaned all contacts w/ alcohol as suggested. did the 9#9#9*655, etc...
powered it off, placed it in stand (non pyramid)... it powers on, beeps, but no indicator light on the handset (yes, the light is enabled) -and that is it -won't charge -battery flat.

    thx in advance,
