Does anyone know what shift controls on a BEO4  ?  In my manual it states

" Shift (in section Lexicon - page 14) is for operating certain functions relating to other recent B&O remote controls.  Press 0, 3, 6, 7 or 9 to do so. For B&O professionals only." 

Shift Radio 6 and Shift Radio 7 control the MCL2AV - but what do 0, 3 and 9 do?  Also does Shift XXX 6 or 7 work anything else?

Shift on B&O remotes is a lot like Shift on the PC keyboard - it opens up a lot of secondary features. On the Beolink 1000, for example, I found out by chance that Shift+A.Tape will turn on the second Tape input on my Beocentre 8500, and it's very similar on the Beo4 - uncommon controls are accessed by Shift instead of being given their own button.

Have a look in the Manuals section on here - if you're a bronze member, pay the extra and upgrade, imho it's well worth it for the manuals alone, let alone the prize drawer and so on!!

I just read the manual on the BEO4....they have shift....but there is no shift button...it's not under list....

How do i get to SHIFT on a BEO4.....??

Does the shift function on beo4 enable the tuning of radio frequency on beomaster 4500?

I am fairly sure you can tune radio stations on your BM4500 using Beo4 but it is not straight forward!
Also, it is nothing to do with SHIFT.
I can tune my BM7000 with Beo4, but I have to trick it into thinking it's tuning a TV.
I made a thread about this some time ago, I'll see if I can find it and report back.

i greatly appreciate it. i think that it this whole business of tuning the radio should be a priority when designing a universal remote. those people in denmark sure have a funny way of doing things haha

would  you happen to know if this trick works on the bm4500?

sorry for the string of replies/questions... about how long do you wait outside the room? and do you leave the room with the remote or leave it to talk with the receiver?

You don't actually have to leave the room!  You could cover up the IR transmitter instead.

You have painted quite a picture in my head!  You, standing at the bottom of your stairs thinking "I wonder if it's finnished 'doing it' yet?"
