Hello All We all know of the horrid Light control issue we have with Bang & Olufsen in that if you want to control the lights you need to re-wire your lights in your house as there is no mains in the switch onoly a switch wire. What if i heard a wisper of a very clever man who is in the process of designing a normal dimmer switch that will work off of the beo4 without the need for a re-wire or an LC2 or any other aftermarket device. Who woudl be intested in one of these i know i would. It just replaces the original light switch and thats it. Seanie ??>>>>???>>> WAITING

Hi, I would be interested too, especially as it is very hard to find a LC2 in the US. Would this be an inline solution or built-in-the-wall type? turbotol

Wishes You should ofcause be able to control the lights normaly aswell. Furthermore maybe the ablilty to store lightsettings(maybe 80 % of full power) even though this is not a request. Any normal lightdimmer controled by a beo4 or 5 is way enough...

We dont know if the unit will work in the US at present as you use 110 volts over there and we use 240 here in the uk. I will get back to you ASAP. Also the solution will just replace the existing light switch running of the current switched wire in the socket. (uk houses) Currently the development model works with up and down and 0 = off 1 - 8 is pre determinded light levels and 9 is fully on. Seanie

Any idea of the dimensions, because I would like to build it into the existing BTicino frames. Can you also activate it manually? Great idea!

I have one of these (but went faulty). I bought it from ebay in germany about 3 years ago it is a direct replacement for a UK light switch with only 2 connections COM & L1. It worked with my Beo4 and BL1000 also by a touch plate on the front a treat untill the thing stopped (it is a fult with a large resistor). It had all the functions of the LC2 memories for light scenes and could be controled from the older two way systems. It is still in my shed and i would be more than willing to donate this to anyone who can make a better model. Just get in touch. Mark. P.S put me down for one of the new ones!!!!

I'm sorry to mention this, but that has already been made. In Denmark we have a standard, and someone, (whose website I of course can't remember), made a dimmer that could fit inside such a standard size housing. Unfortunaly I have never been succesful in finding a dealer of these. I'll try to look for the link when I get home. I actually think that I got the link in the old old forumof Beoworld.

This is the one I was talking about in 1-module size, unfortunatly it's in danish: http://unotech.boyle.pil.dk/cms/images/stories/vejledninger/Brugsvejl_XIR.pdf But I also found this one in 1,5-module size: http://alletiders-el-vvs.dk/shop/lk-ihc-contro-1399p.html I also found something dutch which I think is the some kind of system for the LIGHT function: http://www.light-technology.nl/isyglt/index.php I even found a danish fireplace that you can control with the LIGHT function :o)

I think you are talking about Dinalight which was made in Denmark and fitted into a standard light switch box and are B&O LC2 compatible. Unfortunately they are no longer made and about 3 months ago I sold the only two I had. You may also wish to view a previous thread on the subject HERE

How's the development going? I'm in London and have a selection of B&O equipment and remotes, let me know if I can help with the testing!! I'd love to see the prototypes.... :-) Alex

Hi quick note. Its working again! just tried my BL1000 and it works a treat But!! I cant rember what size resistor it needs and the one i put in is getting a bit warm so going to try a bigger size. Cant upload pics as the file size is to big (more than 100kb). The actual unit is approx 2"square and about 1"deep with a fly lead going to the IR sensor and touchpad. So its here if anyone wants to try and make one? Mark
