    Any early tips?

Getting mine today, Saturday, and the very nice B&O man is bringing it out with his laptop to program it for me. Any good or bad suggestions at this early stage?

My set-up is BV7-40/BS9000/Lab9's/Lab8000's (Sky HD) in main room and three link rooms with BV6's/DVD1/V8000 etc

When the dealer arrives with his laptop it will include a very large number of TV & Radio station icons, but there will be many he will not have particularly local radio stations you may listen too. I suggest you capture all the local Radio stations you use with a typical pixel size of 80 x 44 and in BMP format. An example is I have a Radio station called Wave 105 and the following is the icon used from their web site

    Wave 105

Did you know that when the Beo5 is configured to your set up, it also works out the option setting for your system and will update this automatically rather than you having to manually set the options? Now that is clever.

You're right Peter. First time it was quite confusig because after pressing the button I expected to get a list to select the differnet options. It took three presses until I realized that everything has just happend with a single press :-)

    Very clever indeed, Peter!
But only if your dealer has set the correct options in the first place.
I have my Audio and my Video both in option 1 whereas my dealer would probably set them to 0 and 2.

Andy - good point, well made.

Aside from a home visit, my suggestion to anyone with a BEo5 on order is to do the following "prep" :

    1.Make a comprehensive list of B&O Kit

    2.  List the locations.

    3. Decide which logo's you would like etc etc.

    4.  Think about any operational quirls you use - such as andy and his option 1 scenario.

    5.  Email the above info to your dealer, giving a few days notice.

This way, the "donkey work" can be done in advance of the collection/installation - saving you and your dealer time.

Hope all Beo5 owners are enjoying the product - a future design classic, and a joy to use ....once youget the hang of it [:'(]

    Regards

    David

    Re: Any early tips?

    Hi Dave.
I have never got round to it, but, I'd like to say a big thankyou to the staff at King Street.
In particular Graham and Ian who sat for 5 hours with me on day one, setting up both mine and Peter's Beo5.
Between the three of us we managed to work things out, a massive learning curve started that day for all three of us.

All the best mate, see you soon.

I agree! Many thanks to King Street - my set up was clearly a challenge so I hope it didn't cause too many problems! Delighted with the remote and would recommend King Street to anyone. Friendly and informative and, quite frankly, a bunch of really nice guys.
