Hello, I'd like to know which catridge must fit in the beogram 1202? The sp10; sp10a; sp14? People are giving me different kinds of info. Does anybody knows? thanks

The Beogram 1202 was originally supplied with the SP10 cartridge. The SP12 would be regarded as an upgrade. The SP14 will work but is really a replacement for the SP6/7 which was designed for the earlier Beogram 1000. The compliance differs slightly.

The A bit of the nomenclature refers to the cartridge rather than the stylus. A means that the cartridge will simply fit into the B&O arm by means of the pins on the cartridge. B&O did however also supply a cartridge body with a 1/2" mounting bracket built in and this model did not have the A after the model number. The stylus, which in this range of cartridges was detachable, would fit either model.

    Re: Beogram 1202...cartridge

Hi, i have just purchased a beogram 1202 which has a sp14 cartridge fitted, the sound just doent seem very crisp compared to my current turntable.

I dont know if this is just what these turntables sound like or could this be because of there being an sp14 fitted rather than a sp12 or sp10?

Hope you can help, id love to keep the 1202, it looks so good!... just doent sound quite right!

What tracking weight are you using? It should be 2g for the SP14. Remember these are old cartridges and it could be worn. The SP12 would be better and tracks at 1.2g.
