    WTB: Beocenter 8500/9000/9500/9300

    Hey All,

I would like to add a Beocenter 9000 style unit to my collection. I would prefer a 9000 or 9500, but if an 8500 or 9300 came up, I would consider it (I do not need two-way communication). Anyone have one they are willing to part with? I am in the US.

Just one thing to consider with. CD units are no longer available for the 9000. Don't think they are avilable for the 8500/9500 either.

    Very valid point Craig,

the laser unit in the BC9000 seems to be growing issue of late but the 8500/9500 has so far proved to be pretty reliable and robust. I can only remember of one of these failing and I think that was one of joeyboygolfs. Don't know the full outcome of this but I'm pretty sure he got it going again somehow.

The 9300 is basically a reboxed BS2300 so I would imagine parts will still be available for these but it isn't as versatile as the earlier units.

Most of the CD problems are associated with 9000's because of their age but you must remember that 8000,8500,9500 and earlier 9300 all had the same or similar servo pcb and the same problem will occur with them in time.

Easy fix though, once you know how.

    Regards Graham

Which model did you get in the end?

I found a 9500 (the one I really wanted). It is supposed to be in excellent condition, cannot wait until it arrives - it will match my BL 5000s well.

    Good choice!

Does it come with a remote control? The Beolink 5000 is the one to have with this system due to the 2 way functionalitySmile

No, it does not come with a remote, though the BL 1000 for my BS 2500 will work. I would love to have a BL 5000, but they are very expensive in the US.

Do you mean second hand? They are still available to order from your dealer. Think the U.K. cost was about £235. Glad you got the 9500. Truly the best of the range.

Yeah, I mean second hand. Keep in mind the US $ is worth little - about $2/Pound Sterling.
