    Problems with cd5500

I am the original owner of a complete 5500 system that came with a cd50 disc player. I just purchased a cd5500 on ebay and I am having a problem. Whenever I attempt to advance the track with the remote, it skips a few tracks instead of just advancing to the next track. This does not happen with the cd50. Also, the cd5500 does not seem to display time elapsed or time remaining. Finally, I would like to use my cd50 as a second cd player using the aux or tape 2 input. Is there any way to connect it so that it will power on and off with the rest of the system? I would appreciate any suggestions on these issues.

    Re: Problems with cd5500

Can't think of a solution to the first question you pose.

    Hmm

The CD50 had display features that were excluded from the later CD players - the Master Control Panel for the 5500 and 6500 plus the Beolink 7000 took on that role.

You should be able to connect it up to the Aux input and provided it has a 7 pin datalink then I do believe it should work on and off with the rest of the system.

Seems to be a faulty CD5500. Mine works as it should. The display is limited compared to a CD50 but the MCP shows all sorts of information. Sound quality is far better than the CD50 in my opinion.
