Can anybody tell me how the software for a V8000 is upgraded and what the costs are if a dealer does the job?

Can't remember the latest version. AU$150, get the unit serviced and cleaned as well.

Change is useful if you need to connect a STB to the V8000. Check the BV7 manual for details.  Pity the old site has gone as I detailed the update there.

I just bought one second hand (100 eur) and I believe the software version is 2.1 (how can I check?). I would like to connect it to my BV6 which allready has a DVD1 and a STB (Rebox 1150) connected. I understood youy need a certain software level to be able to connect the STB behind the V8000.

    Hi!

I have a Mx6000 with V8000 and dvd so i have the same problem. How do you choose stb once connected to v8000? Does the ir-codes loop through v8000 so I can use my Oneremote  stb controller cable?

    regards

Being the retarded now very southerner, whats the advantage in the new v8000 software, and the benefits of plugging in the stb to the v8000 rather than a beovision?

    Re: V8000 software upgrade

    Hard to remember the details.

The latest version sold was 3.1. There was an update which brought it to 3.13. (I have that),. Check the sticker on the back for the version. The upgrade kit came with the sticker.

If you had a single scart on the TV then the STB could be played via the V8000, it could also record. You could also record from the STB without starting the TV by linking the STB with the V8000. Some sort of menu transfer allowed this. (the features were enabled in the 2.1 to 3.0/1 updates)

Some other fixes related to NTSC B/W on PAL units, a few minor glitches that helped with reliability. Its hard to remember now.

There is a TIB for the 3.13 update, maybe someone has it.

    Hope that helps..
