Hello B&O-Fans,
After staying away from this forum for a while, I was really surprised about the new one and rejoined as a silver member. The reason why I came back is of course the passion for B&O and a new toy called BeoVision 6-22, which was a real bargain. After downloading the service manual I started to examine the TV in detail. I stumbled about an error in the monitor information of the monitor service menu:
TV 1309 MDL
TV is fine, 0911 means 13th of September, but what does MDL mean? I recon that the error has something to do with the setup of the STB-C and/or the external device (STB). I’m using a Technisat MF4-S, which is compatible with the Tec. DIGI. PR-K (listed in the STB-C menu). When the TV and the STB if off, it is possible to activate them by pressing DTV (Beo 4). After that, the STB is booting and the TV is looking for a signal from the receiver. Unfortunately, the TV is going on and off twice (without showing any picture, only the LED is turning from red to green) and after some seconds it stays off. Pressing the TV button helps to activate the TV, but it seems that the STB-C has deactivated itself because it is no more possible to communicate with the STB after pressing DTV. Moreover, the mentioned error pops up in the monitor information. The only way to bring the STB-C to send commands again is to go into the STB-C menu and to select the correct STB again.
A workaround is to setup up the STB-C correctly and not to use DTV to switch the STB and the TV on. Instead, it is possible to turn on the TV by pressing TV and after that switching to DTV.
Now I wonder if this is the normal behaviour and what does MDL stand for?
Best regards,
Andreas
