Pretty sure the answer is no. With the BC2, you can play a video source in one room and an audio in the other but not two audio. The BS4 has no video source and hence I think you can only play one thing at a time.

I actually think the answer is yes, but only if the speaker in the main room are connected directly to the BS4, not on the TV.

    Same for Beocenter 2

I just tried CD down & radio upstairs and the answer was NO. Funny, I was sure i could. You can if the headphones are attached.

Note. My BS4 is connected to the TV. My speakers are also connected to my TV.

This is correct, we do it all the time.

I think this thread is a good example of how beoworld could possibly impact on someone's buying decision.  Someone researching the brand and a BS4 could stumble accross it and based on a couple of comments here assume the dealer had been trying to spin him a sales yarn.

I think this is a great resource, but posters need to be sure that what they are saying is correct, as many people do base buying decisions on what they read here

Do you play two sources on a Beosound 4? Or do you mean a Beocenter 2?

I do it on a BS4, but am sure you can do the same on a BC2.  A 3200 or BS9000 do not allow multiple sources.  I don't have nmusic connected so can't comment on if this can be one of sources

     The conditions are:

One room must be the main room, you cannot play different sources in 2 diferent link rooms.

The main room speakers must be connected directly to the BS4 or BC2.

You can do it on a BC2 - I have done that. I didn't realise that you could on a BS4. Nice one. So you can play radio and CD at the same time? I really did not think this was possible so apologies for misleading anyone.

Re: Beosound 4, can a play 2 sources at the same time?

Hi I have a BS4 in my main room and a 3500 speaker in another, they connected with masterlink. Yes you can play different sources in the different rooms, cos the radio only has one tuner you can only get one station at the same time.

No problems playing and controlling A mem on my 3500 while the wife listens to cd or radio in the main room.

What top system plus 4gb standard SD cards do work on the BS4 fine.

Are your speakers in the main room connected to a Beo-TV or are they connected to the BS4?

    OK, thanks!
As mentiond earlier in this thread two source is only possible if speakers are connected directly to the BS4.

The technical explanation is that a masterlink-cable can carry only one (audio)source. So a headphone or beolab connected directly to a BC2 or BS4, gives you the possibility, to listen to another source in a link-room.

DoubleU cheers for the clarifacation, i was surprised when i set the system up and found i could have two different sources especially when the B&O info said the opposite, so when i expand my system i can't expect 3 sources due to the limitations of the cable. Thanks for that i won,t have my dreams shattered!
