BeoSystem 4500 and the Glass Panels

Hello all, I am looking for some advice to help me reattach a loose glass touch panel that is part of my BeoSystem 4500. The unit will by hung from the wall so it is pertinent that it is attached firmly. It looks as though some sort of double sided tape was originally used.

I am looking for some insight as far as the removal of the old adhesive and what should be used as a replacement.

    Much thanks,

     -Max

    Hey

If you get stuck let me know. I've done this repair before. You might as well do all the other panels as they'll all come loose eventually and if the get broken, there are no more replacements from B&O

You can buy a repair kit from B&O,that provides enough of the correct tape to do several repairs. It's special thin tape and very strong, but you need patience to get it right. You need to clean all the original tape and glue residue from the glass and the plastic holder,to ensure that the glass sits evenly.A glue remover will work, but don't scrape the old glue off with a metal tool,as it will scratch the paint off! Use plastic,a credit card is ideal, and I had several I could'nt use anymore for their original purpose(another story!)

    Regards,

    Nick
