Stick out tongue [:P] Beovision 7-40 MkIII - when?

Any news from B&O on when to expect the new BV7 (1080p + BS3) in Europe?

Someone hinted that it might be as early as September

Here in Sweden we have September right now!!!

To paraphrase an old BeoWorld-buddy: One could use some HDMI-connections

Re: Beovision 7-40 MkIII - when?

B&O released all the service manuals, tech spec, user guide and setup guide (in all the usual languages) on their intranet which is available to their dealers. Then, some two weeks ago, they pulled everything off the intranet.

As the model is already launched in the US (July-07) there shouldn't be any technical problems to be solved. They may have a few mkII's in stock, though. But it will be launched pretty soon - simply because the dealers have started to notice that it is difficult to shift expensive 40" TV's without the necessary sockets on the back and without the mandatory Full-HD seal.

Re: Beovision 7-40 MkIII - when?

Last week I asked my local (UK) dealer if there was any news on the BV7-40 MKIII and they said 'no, no news, and you'll be the first to hear when we receive some news'. Didn't sound too happy about the situation. I was under the impression that they were a bit fed up of talking about the possibility to customers, accepting pre-orders, but having no idea of the release date.

Put it this way, if they don't have a release/order date, it's not going to be any time soon. November perhaps?

I got a similar reply from a local dealer: No official info from B&O yet.

He mentioned that besides the 'rumours on the internet' (where would he get those?) he did not have any information.

Re: Beovision 7-40 MkIII - when?

A European company can not launch an updated (mkIII) model in the US and continue to sell the old (mkII) one in their home market for more than a few weeks. A few articles about this in the press and B&O would struggle to loose the "design over content" tag.

On top of that, Scandinavian cable companies will start to roll out their HDTV STB's this Fall and their PR dept's are hard at work already. The keyword is HDMI, and who will buy an expensive tv like the 7-40 that doesn't support these STB's out-of-the-box and still isn't Full-HD (yes, one can argue if Full-HD is necessary - but the competition is selling on this new buzz word).

Imagine the fuzz if BMW launched the new BMW M3 in the US only, with no (official) intention of introducing it on the European market...

It all would have been okay if they didn't have both models on their web site... (depending on whether you state US or Europe as your region).

My local(UK) dealer advised me today that he has received confirmation from B & O that the BV7-40 Mk111 will be despatched from Denmark on the 14 October, and he should have it in store on the 18/19 October.

He also advised that until the 31/12/07 B & O is offering a 4 year warranty on certain products including the TVs.

Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh!

Any news on an updated BV7-32?

Not sure if I am happy with the changed color of the display; this will not match my BS9000.

Yes  agree with you Bieele, white text dose not match in with other B&O units, but maybe it is easier to read.

Not sure if it would be possible, but I  hope it would, - nice to have it blend in with rest of B&O gear.

Maybe the new colour will match some new B&O units that will appear in the future?

Sorry, but there will be no white display in the mkIII BV7 : your picture comes from the B&O mediacenter, and it is a black & white version of a color version picture with a red display. Just compare the two picture : they are exactly the same, except the color of the display, and... the color of the reflect in the screen, which shows the fact that colors have been removed...
