    Sky HD 'Muting'... Help!

    Just got home tonight to learn that some channels on our Sky have no sound!

    I have a HD BV5 and a Sky HD Box, and i'd say about 20% of the channels have a perfect image but absolutely no sound.  All connections are secure, and what confuses me is that we have sound on the other 80% of channels.

    Any suggestions before i blame the Sky HD Box?

    Hi

    Do you have digital surround from the sky box(a single RCA cable)? If so what happens if you pull this out? (remember to turn off TV Wink)

    The TV doesn't know or care what your tastes in viewing are so this must be a fault with the Sky box?

    Yes but your BV5 still has a digital audio input for surround if you what to use it Smile

    Take a look in sky box menu, if it set to use digi out! if so set it to off then! BTW I have never seen a sky box so properly not the best to advice you Wink

    The BV5 does indeed have a Digital Audio input but in the case of the BV5 HD, it doesn't work.  The DVI input has it's own Spdif input, however, if you connect it you can only get stereo.  Sadly, a SW glitch that doesn't seem to be resolved yet.

    That said, if anybody knows how to fix this I would be very grateful.
