    BeoCord 2000/3300 Belt Repair?

    Hi All -

Picked up 6 - yes 6 - pieces of vintage B&O today!! We already have a BeoMaster 2400 & BeoGram 3404 with M70s on pedastals.....and will replace that with the new/vintage pieces found today.

Included in this group are 2 BeoCord decks - a 2000 and 3300. Both light up, but neither plays. As soon as you press play, it goes right to stop. My dad (bigtime audiofile!) came over tonight and took one apart. He says the drive belt seems loose and the driven belt has fallen off, due to stretching. I asked in another forum, and thought I'd leave a note here too. How difficult/possible would it be to fix these decks? Where would we get the belts and/or instructions?

Thanks in advance for any guidance. We sure do love vintage B&O - and listen to albums almost everyday!

    Kara

If it turns out you need a replacement cassette unit I have a couple of spares which you are welcome to for the price of a nominal donation of your choice to help fund Beoworld.Smile

Chances are it will be just the belts as these are pretty well designed & built units.

Beocord 2000 and 3300 cassette decks; If you can hear the motor running by placing your ear to the deck but the tapeheads won't engage (or has become stuck with a tape loaded),
the deck is begging for new belts.

This also applies to the Beocord 6000, 6002, 8000, 8002, 8004 HX-PRO and 9000 as well as the Beocord 5000 of the 1980's stacking system.

Belts are still available and mounting instructions can be included, also containing information on how to unload an eventual stuck tape without damaging anything.

If one belt is bad, the other(s) are probably also worth replacing while in there.

Detailed mounting instructions with photos can be included with the belts, you only need to inform the model.

i already bought the belt and there was no instruction in the b&o package.

my local hifi dealer was so kind to organize me this spare part.

so, i need an instruction paper as pdf or  whatever.

the other belt seems to be ok.

    thanks for help

Martin do you have the Beocord 200 belts( all of them in stock)?. Just brought a beocord 200 on Ebay, which I think needs new belts. Migt as well do all of them at the same time.

If that is the Beocord 2000 cassettedeck then yes, I have a complete set containing all three belts.

If the open-reel deck, no at this point I only have some of them and not done testing those yet.
