    Beo5

Beo 5 is now on the official site, with a little video.

    It´s not magic - it´s Bang & Olufsen

    Re: Beo5

    Thanks for the info!

Looks interesting, but as long as I have only one room with B&O stuff, I don't think I will need one, and at this moment, I still prefer the look of the Beo4. Will the Beo5 be able to control more STB than the Beo4, or will it eventually learn to control new non-B&O equipment? The article says it will control not yet existing B&O devices, but does not speak about non-B&O stuff.

The specs read: Beo4 IR protocol, Beo5 IR protocol, RC5, Bitstream, NEC and Raw...

I wonder what the new Beo5 IR protocol is about.

Does anyone knows which non-B&O the Beo5 will control ? i.e. Apple Frontrow? Apple Tv ?

I will not be suprised if it can use Bluetooth, because Playstation 3 is in the list of Beo5 config software of non B&O equip

    Re: Beo5

Oooo... if it could control my Mac, that would be the icing on the cake. I've already been wanting to get one, just so that I can access Phono from a main button rather than having to press 'List'. That and I've also wanted to have a 2nd remote so that I can drill a hole in the wall and stick a sensor and some speakers in my bedroom

I think a weekend staying indoors rather than going out on the town spending money beckons.

    So... Who's gonna get one?

I'll definitely get one, but only if I get the config software, as I reorganise my setup to often.

    Re: Beo5

    Sorry guys... Found it...

It would be a terrible shame if the Beo5 can only be programmed for non-B & O devices by the dealer. I just read the 1/2 page blurb about it in the product user guide...

Come on B & O... you know better!

    Re: Beo5

The Beo5's ability to control other devices is not there to control say, a DVD player. It's more a case of being able to control for example, lights or curtains which may be controlled via IR, simple functions for automation, or so I believe.

Only TV-s with the (newer) PUC-controller. You will still be dependent which external boxes B&O is going to support. Same as Beo4.

    Re: Beo5

    Oh shoot,

it's always the same, I see the first pictures, and think oh my gosh, it so horrible, then a few weeks or months later, the release date......
and I think only about when I could purchase the new "toy" and explain it to my girlfriend.....

But I agree, I would love to have to software or the tool that I am able to customize it like I need, when I need it.

    Greetings
