Beocentre 9300 and link speakers not working

I have just reconnected my LCS9000 link speaker in a bedroom and extra speaker kit in a conservatory after some decorating and neither work.  The Beocentre is fine.  When I re-wired the cable into the link speaker control/transceiver box I did not power down my 9300.  Could some of the wires have shorted out and zapped the MCL circuitry in the beocentre ?  I have re-optioned both the beocentre and LCS to Option 2 so that should all be OK.

Any help appreciated, especially the number of a good engineer in Essex!!!

I would not be surprised if the LCS9000 has defaulted back to ML rather than MCL. Try re enabling the MCL on the LCS via the service menu.

Unfortunately I can't find a reference to how to do this so I'm not much help!!!!!!!

    Somebody on here must know????

Extract from my FAQ on the subject

When I purchased my LCS9000, I was told it could only be used with MCL (Master Control Link), is this true ?

No, All units from day one shipment had both MCL and Master Link, however on the LCS9000’s the masterlink socket was covered with a black plug which made it appear that it only had MCL.

To use the MasterLink you need to remove the black plug and enable it via a service menu command. To get into the service menu to switch between ML & MCL press MENU then MENU then 0 then 2 then PLAY, then use the up arrow to switch, then store

There you go.......Keith knows and put it in a FAQ!!!

This info is not in the user manual or the service manual but it is on BeoWorldGeeked

Re: Beocentre 9300 and link speakers not working

Thanks for the advice.  I have just re-read my posting and it is the extra-speaker kit box I was re-wiring not the LCS 9000 how do I test if there is power coming out of the 9000 to it? I can see the wire marked DC, do I put a meter between this and the screen ?(The LCS 9000 is connected to my Beocentre 9300 via a magic black box and when I got the LCS9000 they did some upgrade as the connection on the LCS9000 is not a din type plug so I am not sure if it is ML or MCL ?)

    Cheers,

    Geoff
