    Best looking CDs in BS9000

OK; I admit this post is on the edge, but maybe a good sunday night post:

Whenever I buy a new CD, I am always happy when the print on the CD itself looks nice, this way I can also enjoy it when I look at the CD when it is not playing in the BS9000.

My current favorite looking CD in the BS 9000 is:

    Damien Rice - q

BTW: also a great CD to listen to!

What is your "Best looking CD in the BS 9000"?

    Regards,

    Bieele

Re: Best looking CDs in BS9000

Unfortunatly I don't have a 9000 yet, as everytime I save up enough money, something happens and I use the money on that instead :o(
But I agree with you, I also hate when no work has been put into the CD print.
My brother often have burned CDs in his 9000 and then I have to yell at him. I often tell him that he should put in the same kind of black film tint as used on car windows, so the burned CDs aren't showing ;o)

I don't have a BS9000 neither, but I am sure that Overtime by the Dave Holland Big Band would look great. The CD looks the same than the cover:

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. - Berthold Auerbach

I have an album from Fierce Angels (can't remember which one as I aint at home), which has 3CDs, and the art on each CD is partially zoomed in from the previous CD - if that makes sense.

Very nice effect when viewed in the BS9000.

Massive Attack's Mezzanine looks great, and it appears to be their best opus ever...

I like the style of R.E.M.'s Automatic for the people too...

    Cheers, Laurent.

    Good idea to show the artwork;

The Damien Rice CD I referred to looks like this (artwork on CD similar to cover)

    Hello Archie,

Nice; I recognize some CD's: U2-Pop and U2-Zooropa. The other once I do not recognize; but you are right; psychedelic!

This is my current BS9000 load:

Re: Best looking CDs in BS9000

I had a dream once where they made a BS9000 that was for LP's instead of CD's, and I'd put some picture discs and coloured vinyl in it. I actually suspect that such a system would cost a fortune in raw materials along, being about 7 or 8 feet long, but man would that be cool looking

It is interesting that most of the albums referred to in this post and indeed on most of the posts on this forum are of non-classical music!

Sadly, it seems that most classical CDs are SILVER with WORDS on them, not so attractive in a BS9000.  I have an Arvo Pärt CD that is a nice aqua blue color, a Messiaen CD with a picture of a fearsome angel, hmmm... and that's all I can think of in my collection for interesting-looking classical CDs.  I'm not at home, though, so I'm going by memory.  Oh yes, I have some Bach keyboard concertos with a picture of the pianist's face on the disc! But he's not very attractive, and I don't know why he's there! Stick out tongue

If I had a BeoSound 9000 I would burn my CDs to cool-looking discs or print fun labels to put over the boring CDs.

    What a good idea, Aj.
You could put a big "B" on the first, "S" on the second then "9", "0", "0", "0"! Wink
Sorry, the drugs are wearing off!

Maybe not, but B&O made an aluminium box with six Deutsche Grammophon recordings and a little booklet for the BS9000.
I don't know where my brother got his, (he used to work for B&O), but since he doesn't listen to classical music, I just stole his :o)

Picture can be seen here: http://toubro.dk/e107_plugins/autogallery/autogallery.php?show=B%26O_BS9000_Deutsche_Grammophon_box.jpg
I'm sorry for the quality of the picture, but it's a bit dark, and it's taken with my mobile, and my webgallery didnt want to rotate it.
The CDs have the same artwork as the covers.
