Which BeoLab 9 design do you prefer?
http://www.hifi4all.dk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=20679&PN=1&TPN=37 Take a look at the bottom of the page. This is a picture of the earlier design concept for the BeoLab 9. I rather like it, there is something quite 'rounded' and 'complete' about it. I do very much like the BeoLab 9 that has been released too. What do others think? Simon.

Re: Which BeoLab 9 design do you prefer?
Simon, I think you are wrong here. Tolga, the guy who designed these speakers is a designer himself, but not working for B&O. The pictures you see don't really have anything to do with the real BL9. He posted his design on the old beoworld forum too. I like them too, but unfortunately, Tolga is not working for B&O... BTW, is Tolga (Thomaas) still member of Beoworld???

Thanks Tom, I am sure you are right about this. Since posting I have looked at the page again and it does appear to be more along the lines of what you suggest. I thought I was looking at an earlier design of the speaker. I am quite new to BeoWorld but I do remember a member called Thomaas posting on the old site. I am sure he must be here although I can't say for sure. Someone else will know. I am curious Tom, but when you say that Thomaas designed these speakers ... do you mean after B&O had released their BeoLab 9s, and then Thomaas slightly changed them and posted those pictures? I should like to understand more about what it says on that page. Perhaps a Danish friend could translate? Simon.

These were posted before the first BeoLab 9 images were readily available. I do kinda like the designs, but I don't think they're anywhere near as 'discreet' as the BeoLab 9s (which is why I like them). Still great designs though...

Oh i do like these! Much more striking and closer to the presence of the BL5. I never saw these pics, interesting to see, cheers Simon

They resemble penguins .... look like a bunch of penguins standing together in that pic.

Re: Which BeoLab 9 design do you prefer?
Tolga made some other very interesting designs, I remember a study on Beo5 that he made, which was totally different to the actual one. I tried to get to his HP, there were some links on the forum-page you linked us to, but they don't work... IIRC, the pictures of the BL9 were posted on the old beoworld after we had heard something about the shape of the speakers, but I am sure that there had not been any BL9 pictures around. And finally, Tolga's design is not that far away from the real BL9.

Togas designs are fantastic! but the finished article is comprimised I feel but in line with the look of the 5s, the 9s are equally as stunning to look at.
