    Welcome to BeoWorld !!

If you find the problem with the 7802, could you see if i can simulate it on my wife? LaughingLaughing

As for the problem though (seriously) - you should ask either Dillen (moderator) or Neil (beovisions) for starters.

Neil would probably be your best shot and I'm sure he can pull a rabbit or two.
I generally don't do TV's or videos and don't even have the manual for the 7802.
Nice TV though, a classic piece !

Given what you say, are you sure you have not pressed the "stereo" button which is marked "SOUND" on the top left above the left speaker ? If you have it will mute the sound, just press it again.

hi guys and thankyou for the advice but no joy - had already tried the stereo button. It stopped very suddenly - worked one day but not the next, if that sheds any light?

Another favourite with this set is after you've been using your i.pod etc headphones via 6.5mm adaptor, you remove the headphones, but leave the adaptor still in the socket. This cuts out the speakers of course!

If not the above,do you get sound via peripheral devices eg,vcr, sat etc?connected to the av sockets?

You may have a problem with the supply to the amplifier stage,or the muting circuit with mutes the switch on noises etc.

These sets are pretty much "bombproof",so I would'nt expect the problem to be major.

    Where abouts are you?

    hi again

yup tried those I'm afraid - no sound and all correct buttons pressed! I'm near Selby , N Yorks, could be a simple soldering job inside it but that'd be way beyond my simple skills!!

A few quick checks with a meter would track this down I think.I can't believe it's anything serious, but you will need an Engineer's help. You' are some distance from me (Midlands)but you must have someone more local?Have you tried the Dealer List?
