    Party!!! [<:o)] BV9 - Soon arriving to ....mr anders(son)

...and I have some question about this

BV9 as you know has HDR2 inbuilt. My cablebox has a HDD inbuilt. And maybe I buy DVD2 and it has HDD inbuilt = 3 HDD

There must be a conflict or?

So I am thinking to pull out HDR2 and swap it to DVD2, because I need a DVDplayer when I sell my BV7-40. And therefore I have another space to put in somethingelse; cablebox etc

So wich unit (not DVD2) shall I drop?

Behind the speakergrill of BV9 is HDR2 and Beomedia1 placed. I have order without BM1 because I already have it

So I order just the cableset and it´s easy to place my BM1 there. Or maybe I will place a Apple Tv or something else thereSmile

It´s nice that it is a "cabinet" that you can place stuff!

The DVD2 cannot be in the TV, I think, as you would not be able to access the disc tray.

The advantage of the DVD2 is that you can burn a DVD with what you have recorded. You cannot do this with you 2 other HDs.

With the HD in your cable box, the good thing is that it records the digital data without converting it to analog and then back to digital, like HDR2 and DVD2 do.

I would use the HD of my cable box in priority, as you will not lose in quality from the original broadcast.

I would use the HD of the DVD2 when you want to record analog TV, or an external video camera, or when I intent to save the content on a DVD for long term storage.

You may be able to order the BV9 without a HDR...

The DVD2 is looking very nice, and is relatively cheap for a beo product. I am really waiting for its release beginning of september... this is my next beo purchase... and then a Beo5!

    Thanx for your input

You can not order without HDR2, only in USA....

....and ofcourse DVD2 can not be inside BV9Sad

Ok, then why not utilise the excellence of the HDR2 for recording TV programs, and use a Beocenter 2 for DVD and CD playback? That would then be aesthetically stunning, and perfectly functional - the way B&O intended! Wink

The DVD2 is just a reboxed, tweaked Philips DVD recorder. Nothing spectacular IMHO.

When you get your new fabulous TV Party!!! and used it for a week you will love the HDR2 and never use the two others (maybe the one in the stb for digital quality), thrust me..

It's so easy to use and just press stop at any time and it pause what ever is on...

    Another question:

Projector output from BS3 is DVI

Shall I use DVI - VGA (projector) or DVI - HDMI?

    Wich is best?

Re: BV9 - Soon arriving to ....mr anders(son)

I would like to think you would use a projector with DVI/HDMI inputs, that way if you input HD-DVD/BluRay content into the BS3 it would be able to pass the HDCP onto to the projector - future proof and all that...

my Sanyo has VGA and HDMI...

now I use VGA from BV7-40

so DVI to HDMI get the best picture?

Re: BV9 - Soon arriving to ....mr anders(son)

I was just saying, if HDCP content is passed through the BS3 (from a source like HD-DVD/BluRay) and is needed by the projector, then DVI->HDMI is the only option as VGA can't carry the HDCP singnal.

I would like to think DVI->HDMI would be the better picture as the signal is all digital.

Congratulations, Mr Anders! The BV9 really is a piece of art, absolutely faboulous, especially when set up with a pair of BL9. Will you keep the BL8000?

Yup, congrats on the BV9, excellent purchase.

Would be interesting to see the size of the BV9 box, because my BV7-40 box was a tad on the big side Wink

    Good news!

Congratulations - looking forward to reading your comments after setting it up. Not often we can get first hand info from a previous BV5 and 7-40 owner...

    Hi There!

A simple question for you... How did you attach the STB to the back of the BV9???

and by the way congratulations on your new system!
